An excellent collection of stories

I was interested in reading about the character Shub-Niggurath, and this book has a number of great stories involving her within the Cthulhu Mythos. My only complaint is that a few stories seem (To me) unrelated to the character of Shub-Niggurath, but for the most part they stay true to the theme. It's an enjoyable read, with several excellent stories that really can't be found elsewhere. I plan to buy more books from the Cthulhu Cycle series involving other characters.Read full review...

For any enthusiast of gothic horror

I've only read the first two stories but I enjoyed them immensely and the introductory passage about each author is interesting. I bought the collection to plunder for ideas for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game and like the fact that this collection is very obscure. The image of the Black Goat, Baphoment, Pan, Shub-Niggurath, or whatever other pseudonym you want to use is both powerfully suggestive and sinister, two elements essential to any good horror yarn.
