Amazing book about how to take care of curly hair. Super curly or just lovely wavy, it's all in here. I constantly receive compliments on my hair since beginning this method 8 years ago. Truly, it is a wonderful reference for those with this type of hair, or for parents of children with curly hair. One caveat - there are a couple of testimonials that refer to adult situations (a lover, or an affair, something like that) that I wouldn't want my tween to read, so if you are a parent, read the book first and make your own decision. Who'd have thought - I DO have curly hair!

I ordered this book because one of my daughters has very curly hair and I wanted to see if perhaps she'd gotten some of it from me! I've always thought my hair was stick straight, just frizzy after washing, but when I used the shampoo and conditioner recommended in the book, I found that I do indeed have a good bit of wave and curl to my hair. And. amazingly, after sleeping on it for several days after washing, I still wake up with curls. Who'd have thought! The book is very simple to follow - the author makes the steps very detailed and clear to follow. I purchased trial sizes of the products at Ulta, just in case I didn't like them, but I will purchase full sizes from now on. My hair feels better after just one washing. I will never go back to straightening my hair!

This book is exactly what I have been looking for. I have always used large rollers or other means of straightening my hair, which usually works fine in Montana, since our air is very dry. However, whenever the air would be humid(sometimes in Montana and almost always when I would travel), my hair would be frizzy and unruly. I could never count on beautiful hair in a humid climate. The Curly Girl Handbook has taught me how to get beautiful waves that are not ruined with a change in humidity. I love the way my hair looks! Also, this is SO much easier than my old hair routine! From dry and frizzy to curly girl

My hair was so dry and frizzy. I have some gray hair on the top that I call my skunk patch and it is crazy so I had to try something different. The book only took a couple of hours to read through because you don't have to read the whole thing, only the parts that have to do with your hair type, issues, etc. I started the program right-a-way and my hair and curls have definitely improved and look healthier. I have a big swirly gray and brown curl that dangles on my forehead. I'm still trying to find someone who can cut my hair the curly-girl way and then I will see the full results.
