Very powerful. Bought the bare tool because I already had a 60v chainsaw and already had batteries and a charger. I will say that the head on the string trimmer is extremely loud and am not sure if this one is a defect but its louder than my table saw while I am cutting wood(very high pitched gear type of sound). The neighbor even came out to see what I was doing and said it was abnormally loud. We'll see how it holds up. Otherwise, it was new and it great condition when received. Read full review

I bought this just to use it for edging. For that it is acceptable. I have the DCST970 and it is noticeably powerful and durable. I like the 972 for the attachments that I will occasionally use but will keep the 970 for the hours of string trimming. Read full review
