Interactive Video Gaming, No More Couch Potato

I can't for the life of me figure out why this game hasn't completely come out of its shell yet. This game will have you down to your scivvies and jogging shorts in no time.

Very intense play where you have to step on a dance pad in time to a beat. Maybe a 1/4 of the songs are well heard of, the other 3/4 I really don't think are top of the charts. They are quite tolerable though. Mostly techno of course.

Game play is easy for someone over 10 years old. There are many levels of game play so you can challenge yourself at an impossible level, or just use it as a fun easy workout. Everyone that visits wants to either purchase the game after trying it, or wants to play more, so it's also a great ice breaker for company at the house.

Down sides are clear. You can't play it without the pad. It's just useless. Some versions come with the pad, but if not you are looking at 20-30 bucks even in the world of EBay. The graphics are horrible. Once you see the dancing and graphics you will clearly see what I mean. The fortunate part of this down side is that you really don't have the time to pay attention to the graphics you are going at such a pace. Your friends in the background will surely be pointing out the out of place dance moves on the screen.

IM MIXED ON THIS ONE!

First off let's get this straight- I'm a crazy hardcore DDR fiend. Was I impressed with this game? The answer is NO my friends. But why did I give it a "great" rating? because this game is "great" for any DDR beginners. In fact out of all the DDR games, this is the best game for any novice dancers. I found that the difficulty of the game was too easy for me and that's why I recommend that hardcore DDR fans stray from this game. Compared to other DDR games, the hardest level on this game is like a "standard" song on the other games in the series. I've also found this game very lenient as to how it rates your timing, it's almost impossible to get an overwhelming amount of goods or greats if you try. You'll find this to be almost opposite in the other games as they are much more strict. But, again this is exactly what beginners need so overall this will help you to get good much faster than the other games will. The graphics of the game are actually better than the PS2 DDRs so I'll compliment this game on that. The game features 3D environments as backgrounds for the songs you play. The background corresponds with the areas in the story so there are a few different locations. It's also fun to watch mario and luigi dance and their animations are cooler than the other games in the series. Bowser and a few other bad guys dance against you as well to add a little more variety, although you cannot play as them. :( (Bowser has some wicked awesome dance moves!) I also like the sound of the game, it's basically a bunch of different mario remix tunes. The remixes are quite good and most are fun to step to. But... this game has like no frickin' songs compared to other DDRs!!! 28 songs..... jump for joy!!! Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Yeah frickin' right!! AGAIN ONLY FOR BEGINNERS!!!!! If your a hardcore DDR fan you will grow bored of the music way too fast, especially if you have of the other DDRs. If you play for several hours at a time, the music will become horribly repetitious, and you'll probably never want to play again!!! And oh yeah... that stupid story mode!!! What was konami trying to do here!?! There's no point in having it because dialogue is retarded and the storyline is annoying and almost unbearable. Not to mention the only way to unlock your "extensive library" of 28 songs you play through this at least 2 times. Now that sucks!!! BOTTOM LINE: hardcore DDR fans, it isn't worth your time or money, and DDR beginners I encourage you to start on this game if you've never played before, unless you don't have a gamecube. Nuff said. I covered pretty much everything. If you want to know anything else about the game just ask. :)Read full review...

DDR Ultramix, A fun game to play with friends.

I purchased DDR Ultramix a little over a month ago and I love it! It's a fun game and it's a really good workout too! I'm glad I purchased two dance pads because it's more fun to play with other people. There's a cartoon person who dances on the screen in the background and it can be distracting at times. I also don't like some of the dance moves that the cartoon does, but they really aren't that bad. The dance mats tend to twist and shift during play, which tends to be annoying, but I don't have any grip pads underneath either. It has different levels of difficulty that can be quite challenging at first, since I had never played the game before. Overall it is a very challenging game to begin with (I spent a lot of time in the "practice room" doing the moves slowly), but easy to catch on to and I really enjoy playing it now.Read full review...

Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix (Xbox)

My kids play it everyday and enjoy it to the max. I saw this at a recreation center where my son goes, and decide to purchase it for my home. I thought only my 8 year old would use, however I was wrong. My older teenagers have enjoyed it as well. Consequently, I'm considering buying my pads so that four people can play at the same time to prevent arguments on who's going to play next. Best purchase I have made in a long time. It was great to purchase considering its summer time and the kids need something to occupy their time.Read full review...

Love it. Songs are good and basically its for dancing.!!!!

The Dvd Dance revolution ultra mix is great. my son and i are beginners but yet we spend hours dancing and work up quite a sweat and that is on the easy levels. there are many songs to choose from and many difficulty levels as well. we are only on the first 2 levels so we have many more to go. For my family this is a great entertainment and also gets everyone off the couch since we live in a time of sedation, sitting behind computer screens and TV screens all day. This keeps us active and we have fun competingRead full review...

My ebay buying experience.....

ebay is wonderful, its fast, friendly and always there for me 24/7, when I am in the mood to shop. I purchased Dance Revolution for a playstation, and belive it or not so far I have lost almost 20lbs, so ebay is there for many reason even to help people loose weight. I can follow the dance steps in the privacy of my own home and get the most wonderful work out, which is building more and more confidence for me everyday...I think everyone should own a dance revolution system and get their feet moving today! But do not forget, save yourself money at the same time and buy it on ebay....

Thank You ebay,
Sherry

It's excitment will have everyone on there feet and ready to dance!Read full review...

Decent Game, Indecent Stomppads

I bought this game with stomppads thinking I was about to bring my arcade experience home with me. I was half correct. The game itself is perfectly challenging with a nice variety of levels and songs. However, the stomppads do not coincide with my previous experience. Because they are simply one big piece of fabric, one has no idea when a foot is placed in an incorrect spot, or when the plant foot moves. The game itself is great, the stomppads could simply have been designed better.Read full review...
