A book from my childhood

"David and the Phoenix" by Edward Ormondroyd was my favorite book as a child. The phoenix shows his caring for David with his intent to give him a "real education", and we discover that even a 500 year old can learn from a child.

I have always rather hoped to run into a banshee who could make me a Wail, but not so far. I became a scientist, but have always taken care avoided the hubris of the book's villain. Thank you Mr. Ormondroyd for a wonderful book that captured my imagination!Read full review...
