Entertaining, Enthralling and Very Inventive Plots. Best Series Yet
The whole Death in Paradise Series is set in a very relaxed island style background of the Caribbean. The plots spark off police inspectors who are usually sneakily sent to work on the island for a specific case and are then trapped to live in an alien environment. Each officer is unique in their reactions to the islanders and it is these differences and reactions that keep the humour fresh and engaging.
The plots are well up to standards in the police genre and the supporting cast well integrated.
Nice to have some fun and this series is no exception with an Irish inspector coping with the island quirks in a calm participative manner. Besides he is a bingo caller!Read full review...

A new direction
Ardal O'Hanlon playing DI Jack Mooney followed two quirky portrayals by Ben Miller and Kris Marshall. In Australia, I cannot remember seeing him before and did not know if I would take to this series like the last six.
Jack Mooney is a different type of eccentric detective. He is an extremely likeable character with a bit of larrikin in him that fits well with the other cast members. This DI is a bit more relaxed than the last two but no less entertaining.
More of the fantastic Caribbean scenery and the scriptwriters appear to have changed their approach a little. This series is great light entertainment and well worth the money.Read full review...

I didn't really like the 2nd Detective much but the Irish man is equal to the 1st but I like all of the other characters - the stories are different and engaging
