Tracks Well

My guitar is wired in stereo and I play the bridge pickup into my normal guitar amp. I bought this to use on the neck pickup with the octave down / no dry signal setting into a separate amp to play "faux" bass in a casual weekly jam - just me playing guitar and singing and a drummer. It tracks very well with no noticeable latency. I bought a $26 Behringer compressor to even out the levels "post" DROP. We think it does the job well and fills in the bottom end nicely. Sure, a bass player would be better - but this is just for fun and is a cheap and hassle-free solution. $125 for the DROP and $26 for the compressor.Read full review...

Noisy DROP pedal

This is a great pedal, it does exactly what it says it will do and there is no latency that I could detect. One drawback I did notice was that it (at least then I got from eBay) was extremely noisy.I thought it might have been a bad power supply but tried it with other comparable power supplies with the same result, tried reversing the was the power supply was plugged into power, same result, tried isolating the pedal to another power source, same problem ,tried plugging into the same power source as my amp and pedalboard ,same result, looking through other reviews online it seems to be a common problem, some are good with no issues ,some have the same problem I experienced.I ended up returning the one I bought on eBay and will be purchasing another from Sweetwater instead in hopes that that one has no noise issues.I also tried just running my guitar into the pedal straight into my amp ,same result. It is a great pedal and I was bummed I had to return it but I believe Digitech needs to address the power supply issue with this pedal and with their Whammy line since it seems to be a common theme with them as wellRead full review...

Absolute MUST HAVE for all musicians!

No more wasting time down tuning! Hallelujah!! Works in half steps (for complete instrument only) not able to D tune or anything like that. Does 8 half steps, an octave, and an octave/dry. It's a solid pedal and it comes with a power cord (or works on batteries). I use it for bass, and it saves me from having to change instruments or have long breaks between songs. Only problem for me is remembering I have it on! Lol
Great, Great, Pedal!!

Works like a charm with both bass and guitar....Super easy to use.

There's a little bit of "muddy" latency with a bass if you drop several semitones, but I've been able to rectify most of that by adding some treble to my mix....It's super east to use...Just make sure that you place it first in your effects chain.Read full review...

Great for guitar

This things sounds really great. Drops the tuning without affecting the high end clarity. The octave+ dry function is my favorite. I would definitely recommend for guitarists who need to drop their tuning. Does not work well on bass. Once it gets down to the lower frequencies, it has a hard time with tracking so everything will begin to sound warbly.Read full review...

Great problem solver live!

I own two modeling amps and a Digitech Gsp1101 rack unit. All of these offer polyphonic pitch shifting with varying results. Some leave very noticeable artifacts on the guitar tone and others are pretty subtle and you can get away with using live, but you can still hear it trying to track the notes. The Digitech Gsp1101 does the best job overall. But what if I am not using that unit live?
This Digitech Drop pedal is a great problem solver for live situations. It apparently is created with a brand new tracking algorithm. It does the cleanest, clearest job of transposing the full guitar signal down many steps of any unit I have tried. I have yet to hear it struggle to track chords. And the latency is almost undetectable. It's unnoticeable unless you focus intently on it and is completely unnoticeable when performing with others. I can now play whole sets in four different tunings on the same guitar. As I said, it's a real problem solver live.
If you are looking at this product, don't hesitate. Buy one!

Nice pedal

Although digital drop tuning made easy....Pedal does what it is described to do and nothing else, but that's what I wanted. I have long wanted something like this because it is a pain in the a** to have different tunnings and set ups on all the guitars. The only thing I don't like is it is floor pedal and the knob to change tuning has to be turned, it would be nice if the tuning was controlled by the foot switch. I solve this by mounting high it up so it can be turned by hand.Read full review...

DROP it to Effect Loop.

This pedal is truly a game changer for the person who has a Tremolo system. But not just for only them but any guitar to drop a tuning and go right back in a split second to original tuning.

I see a couple complaints about noisy. Mine is not, but then again I'm running it in a Blackstar ID260 2X12 Combo Amp. In the effects loop. I also use a noise gate made by Rowin in the effects loops that quiets the entire amplifier of any noise.

This pedal I wish came out 34 years ago when I started playing. I am completely satisfied with it! 5***** all the way! Anyone complaining today doesn't know what hell it was for decades using a tremolo system. BUY ONE!

New Favorite Pedal!

This thing rules! It came brand new in the box. It sounds awesome. Now there’s no need for another guitar for drop tuned songs. Highly recommend!
