Digitech Whammy DT

This allows you to harmonize, pitch shift, and either down tune or to tune up (similar to using a capo). This pedal tracks excellently with no glitching like the Digitech Whammy 4. I haven't had it for too long so I cannot vouch for the durability; only time will tell. However this pedal is worth it for the pitch shifting alone to get those Rage Against the Machine or Dimebag (Pantera) sounds. But the fact that it also allows you to change tunings all the way from an octave down to an octave up is what sold me. Because I have a Floyd Rose guitar, it is impossible to drop your tuning on the fly and this pedal allows you to do so. You can change your tuning while effectively using the pitch shifting or harmonizing modes as well. Great pedalRead full review...

Whammy dt should be H for harmonizer

Long story short, if you want a really good chorus, harmonizer and a 12 string emulator in one pedal, buy it. I bought this for the detune function mainly, and I find it lacking, due to the fact that it copies the signal and mixes it, translation... You hear the octive of your original signal, so power chords are interesting, but single notes are really noticably harmonized, like it or not, this would be an awesome device if you could separate the dt and harmony function, opens lots of possibilities for nu metal stuff.. I'll keep it for kicks and grins, but if you are looking for a straight detune, keep looking.Read full review...

The Whammy pedal and more

I was originally looking of a v5 Digitech Whammy, after reading reviews about the difference between v5 and v4. After seeing this Whammy DT that was an "open-box" special for the same price as the v5 Whammy, I decided to try the upgrade. I'm glad I did. The Whammy features work as expected, but the drop-tune is really helpful for me as some of my favorite artists (like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Thin Lizzy) recorded a half-step lower than standard tuning. One click and I can go from a .38 Special song in standard to a Thin Lizzy song down a half step.

My only complaint in the location of the "Momentary" button, which is below the drop tune button.

I've had it for a couple weeks and still haven't plumbed the depths of possibilities with this pedal. Definitely will stay in my pedal chain.

Edit: After playing with it a while, there are a couple of very minor issues - the pedal is thin, and if you have a fat foot (like me), you can accidentally move the knobs on the tuning or whammy sides of the pedal while you're pressing down on it. Also, the pedal is sometimes difficult to move back to the heel position, but that's probably me not being so familiar with the pedal. Overall, my recommendation stands.

I Am Become Tom Morello

The pedal arrived sooner than expected! The quality is exactly as it was listed (open box; basically brand new) and worked flawlessly right out of the box. Very easy to use and setup. I can finally play some of those crazy Tom Morello solos. Couldn't ask for more!Read full review...

Awesome, versatile pedal!

This pedal is terrific. Very easy to learn and intuitive. It has two sides: on the left, you have your whammy/harmony effects, with some nice chorus-y sounding detune effects thrown in for good measure. On the right, you have your detune effects where you can go up or down seven semitones, or a full octave higher or lower, with or without dry signal. This means you can instantly take your standard tuned guitar down to C, or B, or hell, even A if you're TRVLY CVLT. You can play an octave lower with dry signal and voila, you now have a bassline running underneath your guitar. I bought this pedal because I love whammy effects, and originally was going to buy the Whammy 5, but this is that pedal PLUS the detune effects. This is especially useful with Floyd Rose or other floating bridge guitars. We all know what a pain in the @$$ those things are to tune.Read full review...

Awesome pedal for the $$$

You get the Drop pedal ($175 retail) + it's ability to also UP-tune in 1/2 step increments + the Whammy pedal pitch shifting functions.
The processor speed/tracking is excellent.
Even in the most quiet room, "warble" is barely noticable.
And having it true-bypass keeps your original signal untouched when the pedal is disengaged.
Want the sounds of Tom Morello and Matt Bellamy, you'll get it right here.

Whammy DT is 2 Pedals in one.

Not only is it a Whammy pedal, but it’s also a drop-tune pedal... and both can be used at the same time!?!
This pedal is replacing my nearly 20 year old Whammy 4 AND a Digitech Drop pedal.
Plus, it has midi in to switch settings via a midi footswitch (the Digitech Drop doesn’t have that feature).
VERY happy with my purchase.

DigiTech Whammy DT Pedal

I purchased this effect pedal with much trepidation. I previously owned one of DigiTech's Whammy pedals, I believe it was a Whammy 4 Pedal if memory serves. It was a POS, died within' 6 months of purchase. I've owned many DOD and DigiTech products over the decades, some have been amazing in sound and durability, others NOT SO Much. I gotta say I'm enjoying this pedal. I can visualize several areas that could be improved upon as I study and utilize this design. That being said, if you can afford one check it out. It is to soon to tell if this one will be worth the investment, but I am pleased that it sounds great, doesn't mess overly so with my audio signal flow though I did have to select "DSP ByPass" to keep noise at a minimum and so the pedal would 'Play well with others'. That setting works fine for my needs. There are several musical situations where I have implemented this pedal with great success, mostly in creating loops that act as ' back ground washes or atmospheres' for over dubbing melodic ideas. Built Like a Tank. Fingers crossed I'm hoping it is a solid sound investment and NOT an Expensive Paperweight. Time will tell.Read full review...

Great Uptune/Downtune

I only bought this because I already had a Digitech drop tune box. However it was very limited and I wanted uptune capability also. This box does both up and down very well. The old box was only good for about two steps down before it started getting distorted. This box I have used 6 up with very little loss of quality. I actually do not use the Whammy part. Its fun to play with but for the music I play I don't use it.Read full review...

Not perfect on drop pitch

Good pedal but not perfect pitch on drop mode and you can occasionally hear artifacts on certain notes. In a live setting this all many be ok but highly not recommended for any recording. Feels like a durable unit and it is very fun for noises and special effects.Read full review...
