Awesome RaRe NES classic

Great 2 player co op game from Capcom. Released in North America on January 1994. Extremely rare late release. Dont think about it, just buy it. This game has increased drastically in value. Im now a proud owner.Read full review...

Not worth the price tag if looking for a quality game

The first Rescue Rangers game was surprisingly excellent. Primo graphics, top-notch sound, and tight game play. Coming from a game based on a Disney cartoon, this is all the more mind boggling. I would have passed on this game, but a friend had it and once I played it, I was glad I did. Capcom’s rep on the NES is well deserved because of games like this and many others.

This brings me to the sequel. While on the surface it seems like an extension of the first game, there seems to be something missing. The graphics don’t seem as vibrant and fun. The music is forgettable and uninspired. And the game play, well let me put it this way, I beat the game my first play through. Now I am a very experienced game player and in my opinion and a few others, quite adept (tooting my own horn here), but the first game was very challenging and required multiple play throughs. Even I am not that good to beat a game on my first try if it was at the caliber of the first game. I mean, I put minimal effort and felt like I was sleep walking while playing Rescue Rangers 2.

It is a shame that Rescue Rangers 2 is a mere shell of its predecessor. Perhaps since it came out at the twilight (not a movie reference) of the NES, not much effort was given since many people were moving on to the next generation of game consoles. From what I can remember, it wasn’t a big seller and because of this, kind of rare which brings me to my next point.

This game is damn expensive if you can find a copy. The cart alone goes for at least 50 bucks. If you want a complete version in excellent condition, prepare to mortgage your house, sell a couple of kids, and harvest any redundant organs you have. If you are looking for a fun NES experience there are many less expensive alternatives. Really, just get the first game. It is much cheaper and much more awarding experience. The only fools who got this game years after its release are collector suckers like me who finally broke down and paid the premium price for it and were kind of ticked when the game kind of blew.

Rescue Rangers 2 isn’t a terrible game, but a mediocre sequel that commands a ridiculous price tag. As a game, Rescue Rangers 2 should be a fraction of what it goes for. As a collector’s item, the price is still extravagant, but as long as there are suckers like me buying, the price will remain high. So in summation, do not buy this game unless one, you are a hardcore game collector; two, you are a hardcore Disney and/or Rescue Ranger fan freak; or three, you are an idiot.

Amazing game, worth its weight in gold!

One of the more rare, and genuinely fun NES games to play. It features 2 player simultaneous play and 8 levels with hidden and bonus areas throughout. You play as Chip and Dale chasing after their long-time nemesis Fat Cat in an effort to get him back to prison. An action/adventure game but not violent, and is definitely appropriate and entertaining for all ages.Read full review...

Very similar to the original

I really love the NES Disney games. I personally feel the Ducktales and Rescue Rangers games were the best. Basically, if you enjoyed the first games you will enjoy the sequels. Don't expect much in the way of changes. This game is virtually the same as the original. Not a bad thing if you loved the original like meRead full review...
