Corporate Espionage

Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) and Clive Owen (Children of Men) team up in this movie of Corporate Espionage.

Using their skills learned in the CIA and MI6 Roberts and Owen go deep underground to infiltrate a corporation that is trying to discover the secret of a product being developed by a competitor.

Good points are: Roberts and Owen work well together and the film has a lot of intrigue and espionage in it.

Drawbacks are: The movie is too long, they could have done this one in 90 minutes but it is dragged out to over two hours (2:04) and there is a lot of repetition, going back into the past five years to rediscover how Roberts and Owen got into the situation they are in.

Overall it is a good movie although it is a bit long.

I did not like it.

I did not like it. It was disorienting, but it had a good ending. It was tedious watching it, though maybe I was just not in the right space for it. I gave it away and hope the next person enjoys it. It arrived in good condition and speedily.Read full review...

A Cloakes & Daggers Corporate Espionage Caper Film!

a slick, Soderberghian comic caper in which it’s never exactly clear who is being conned. It’s easy to see that ex-CIA agent Claire Stenwick (Julia Roberts) and former MI6 member Ray Koval (Clive Owen) have a heated history together when they embark on an elaborate mission of corporate espionage. Two rival CEOs (played by the always fantastic Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti) are battling for the top spot in their industry, and a top-secret new product would determine who would wear the crown. But this isn’t just about business innovation and profit: Claire and Ray have a plan that would help them get the prized formula and walk away with millions.Read full review...

Duplicity

There are few movies from Hollywood that can give the audience the dialogue which is reminiscence from a by gone era. How refreshing to hear the banter. Then laugh along and try to figure out where they are, what they are doing at the moment and also root for them as a couple. The screen chemistry seemed genuine. The love scenes were tastefully done. I am hoping for a sequel but where does Tony Gilroy go from here? I would highly recommend this movie. Have fun and try to put the pieces together before the end of the movie. My husband enjoyed this movie immensely and he is very hard to please.Read full review...

Imitating Ocean's Eleven, etc.

This is a movie you have to pay good attention to and yet it is not that easy to do so because it "drags" in places. It's not a bad "waste of time" movie. It at times seems to imitate some of the Ocean's Eleven, etc movies. Don't spend too much money on this one.Read full review...

A little hard to understand

A good movie, great casting... but sort of hard to follow with all of the flashbacks. and the fact that the two spies had been tricked at the end made no sense until they said it. I was left a little confused, but very funny.Read full review...

Funny

She can do no wrong, just seems to be good in anything she does. Most people will like this movie. Not as good as pretty women though.
