A really good trackball mouse

In short: It's a pretty lightweight device, which can be both good and bad, but overall a great product.

The good: Comfortable, shape and button placement works really well (for me at least). Scroll wheel, with tilt. Sensitive and with different settings. Light and easy to bring. Ball is large enough for precise movement. Wireless and so far without glithes.

The bad: A bit small if you have large hands. Scroll wheel needs to see a bit of use before it runs smoothly, the tilt needed rather hard presses in the beginning. Function buttons doesn't work without drivers, so unusable with linux (atm). So light that you might move the entire mouse by accident, while using the tilt for example.

Kind of disappointed!

Pros:
1- side scroll wheel for those who their fingers are hurt, so they like to use the thump instead.
2- 8 fully programmable buttons including the main right and left ones.
3- Good size (at least i found that for my hand size, which kind of big hand)
4- very nice and fast program, i think it's the best among logitech, Roccat, Razor programs.

Cons:
1- kind of stiff left button, not well design even though they have a big room for it, i had to to remap another key to use as left button.
2- very bad design of the scroll wheel, it's thin and small and stiff even though i loved the fact to have a side placed scroll wheel, actually that was the main reason i bought the mouse for.
3-move the scroll wheel up and down to utilize the shift keys is very hard, you will always click the universal button instead. (the whole scroll wheel design is bad)
4-The build quality is not what you expect for that price tag comparing to Roccat, Razor and logitech.

in conclusion, for $90 or even $60, I don't think it's worth it.

This is the best trackball I have used so far!

This is the best trackball I have used so far. It fits well under my hand. One size larger would had been nice as I have big hands. You have to adjust sensitivity and other features for optimization. I am not a gamer, just plain word processing and online searches. I am not using all the buttons. For my needs, it does the job. I like in this mouse because the trackball is on the between the index and middle finger. The ones with the wheel on the side are a little more precise but I have carpal tunnel issues. With this mouse my carpal tunnel syndrome has not returned. It has no pad, so you have to get one. Being wireless, this version of the trackball is perfect for using a computer while in bed. I have the wired version for my docking station so I do not have to worry about batteries. Not that it consumes a lot of charge. The wheel feature makes scrolling hassle free. Highly recommended. Worth the extra cost.Read full review...

Comfort and accuracy

This mouse reminds me of a mouse by Microspeed years ago. It had a larger ball, but the same idea, with the middle and ring finger controlling the movement, which makes it easy to use for graphic arts, as well as games. On top of that, the dealer from whom I received this, did an excellent job of packing and personalize it like only a Japanese vendor could, with a personal note and origami. Domo arigato gozaimas!Read full review...

Great mouse, takes a bit to "break-in," have patience, it's well worth it.

Be aware this mouse has a break-in period, the switches will be very stiff out of the box, and the trackball will have some friction.

The trackball rides on synthetic rubies, which give a quieter track than a ceramic or steel bearing. Synthetic rubies do have a bit more stiction, however they last much longer.

If you are new to trackballs, set the sensitivity and mouse speed on low. Also, turn off mouse acceleration.

Overall, it's a great mouse, and is saving quite a lot of desk space. I have been using the mouse for about 1 week, and I have to say that the switches are nice and smooth, and the ball tracks nicely. I do however recommend wiping off the surface of the synthetic ruby bearings at the start of each day (though this isn't absolutely necessary).

Very good mouse for working in bed

Pros:Vety confortable and easy to use all buttons and the rolling wheel. Easy to keep my hand on it. Very good the moving of the ball with pointer finger. The buttons are in a good place, not need to search during the using.
I recommend the using of this.
Cons: not that good as Logitech TrackMan was 'cause the ball lighter and smaller than necessary: too easy to roll so it is not totally precise on moving.

It has it's flaws

It is a great design and when it works it is really nice to use! All the buttons work quite well however the trackball seems to not work sometimes, as during the attempt to move the cursor there are times when the ball is moving but the cursor is not.Read full review...

Ergonomic and functional

The trackball really liked, well lies in the hand, a large number of function keys, the program for their customization is available on the official website of Elecom.
Advantages: good sensitivity, all buttons have a clear elastic pressing. Scroll wheel with tilt. Plastic is pleasant to the touch. For me, the right click is conveniently located, without false positives.
Disadvantages: inconvenient back key. First time pressing the wheel with effort, so the pointer moves slightly.
In general the purchase is very satisfied!

Reasonable alternative to old Logitech

Since Logitech not only discontinued the T-RB22 but moved entirely to thumb operated trackballs I needed an alternative. This does what it's meant to, main criticisms really are it doesn't feel like the kind of solid quality you'd expect for the price, and it's small - much smaller than my old Logitech and I have bog hands so really notice it.
No English user manual though I have basic scroll mouse functions without it
