Must have Surround Mix!!!

What an incredible DVD Audio!!! While I only ever tried the dts 5.1 mix, which was incredible as far as the Multichannel and also wonderful sound quality and fidelity…the title track is definitely the showcase, which all the guitars perfectly placed as well as the vocals. I’m also a sucker for the reprise of Wasted Time. The fact that I listen to songs I’d normally NEVER listen to on this album, due to the Multichannel being soooo great, should hook anyone wondering whether it’s worth it. Definitely worth every penny of $50 and I spent closer to $100 the first time I got it. The Eagles were way into surround music from its inception and I also highly recommend the dts Music Only track of Seven Bridges Road available on the DVD video of Hell Freezes Over…there’s a different Eagle in each channel as far as vocals and it’s so great, as is that performance in surround sound…

Great Sonics on this, as others have said, it’s a shame that most dvd a’s didn’t sound that great due to poor original masters or poor mixing. If both are done probably, this format is best and would have had a better chance in the market.Read full review...

Awesome Sound!

Awesome sound of Hotel California album! Heard more harmonies and instruments than I ever knew were there.

Good but not great

While it is pretty good it didn't have the quality sound I expected. I have a very good stereo setup and it wasn't as much of a sound quality that I expected.

Hotel California DVD-Audio

Amazing sound for a nearly-45-year old recording. Don’t have a 5.1 setup currently, but the stereo is crystal clear and reveals elements I had never heard before. Definitely worth the $$$

DVD-A Hotel California

Wow, what a great disc. The "5.1" sound has been re-mixed and it is just great. The sound mix is 5 channel, there is nothing on the LFE channel. All the bass comes out of the 5 main channels. You will need to have full range speaker setup to fully enjoy this disc, this is very common to most DVD-A disc.

I understand this disc has been discontinued from the studio. It is hard to find but worth getting even at a much higher than retail price. A+++++++++++Read full review...

I love everything about this disc! I love the music and I love the sound quality!
The 5.1 surround sound mix is pure magic! This disc features Advanced Resolution 5.1 and 2.0 mixes,also 5.1 DTS and Dolby Digital also a short video documentary.
