Good value, required by code, could prevent house fires.

Arc Fault breakers are expensive when compared to traditional breakers. They are required by code for most new circuits in homes now because they provide additional protection against home fires. Before buying this type of breaker, make sure that your panel supports "Plug on neutral" style breakers. if it does, this breaker will not only fit, but also reduce the clutter in your panel, since there is no pigtail that needs to be routed to the neutral bar. There is an equivalent breaker with a pigtail that will fit panels that aren't plug on neutral.

Aside from the packaging, this breaker looks and works like the ones you find in big box stores for almost twice the price. It's a good value.

If you aren't an electrician (I am not) make sure you understand how to install these are installed and get your work inspected.
