Excellent tube with a slight high end boost !

This is a terrific tube. I have tried many tubes in the past on this guitar pre-amp. This one and others of the same make and specs has a higher power output and more clarity in the highs while keeping a nice but slightly lower mid range. Solid tube

Bought this as a replacement pre-amp tube in my Vox Valvetronix AD100VT-XL amp. Though it's a hybrid amp and not powered by the tube, it plays a big part in the circuitry (namely the gain), tone and overall output. Packs a powerful output while remaining clean and little to no background noise or interference. It is very warm and wide tonally speaking. Before this EH I was using a Mesa Boogie tube and I like this much better. Less bite and gain to the distortion, but you can still crank it and get a wicked good modern rectified sound. Orange micro dark + EH 12ax7= WOW

just installed one as a replacement for a jj tesla.... hfs!!!! it sounds clearer, bell like cleans, louder and thicker when pushed. had to cut my normal gain and volume settings because it was a noticeable difference in volume. if you have a md, install one to receive tonal glory :)Read full review...

Very nice sounding tube.

I buy this tube for my Hi Fi preamplifier and test them, they sound very good. The sound is open precise and flat but it's not warm like Mullard.
