MEL 9

LOS EFECTOS DE ORQUESTA, CUERDAS, FLAUTA, CLARINETE, Y CHELO SON MUY BUENOS.

EL PRESET BRASS REALMENTE NO SUENA PARA NADA A METALES, NO LE ENCUENTRO UTILIDAD.

LA SIMULACIÓN DE SAX, Y COROS LOS CALIFICARIA COMO REGULARES.

EN CONCLUSION, TIENE MÁS VIRTUDES QUE DEFECTOS ASÍ QUE LO RECOMIENDO COMO UNA

HERRAMIENTA UTIL, AUNQUE ES MUY CARO Y LOS CAMBIOS Y AJUSTES DE PRESET SE TIENEN QUE

HACER DE MANERA MANUAL YA QUE NO SE PUEDEN PROGRAMAR LO CÚAL ES UN PROBLEMA

TOCANDO EN DIRECTO.

Completely disappointed

Watched many many videos on this product with all the instruments that I'd be using(guitar and keys). And both sounded just awful. The sustain and tracking are garbage. When using chords and adding ONE note (high) the chord sustain disappears and you're left with just the single high note. Nothing like the instrument that it's supposed to emulate but fails dramatically. Read full review...

MelIfficient Mel9

Using it for Bass Guitar ~ Works well as long as used in the Upper Register ~ Higher Frequencies (Stay OFF Low E & play mostly on G & D Strings) Helps to use an Upper Octave Generator in front of Mel9 when using with a Bass Guitar.
Very Useful device for Power Trio's or Duo's where the Bass Player can add some Polyphonic Chords & several other Instruments into the overall Performance and/or during Lead Breaks. Hope this info helps My Fellow Musicians !

Mel9 is excellent

Mel9 performs as advertised. Reviews and demos on YouTube were accurate and informative. Beats using an Ebow. Very fun and useful with a looper to buildout layers and add depth. Sometimes cannot quite track every low note and be a bit messy if changing chords quickly. Planning on putting a compressor in front of it. Well made. I'd buy it again.Read full review...

Really fills out a solo acoustic!

It really fills out your sound. And it fits the bill if you want that really saccharine flavor! It's a really good effect and easy to use...

Almost Perfect

This EFX pedal is almost 100% but requires a lot of experimentation with other efx pedals for it to meet expectations. For the first 4 hours I hated the M9 but like any thing else, good sound takes some time.
First the front end of the signal chain requires a optical compressor with adjustable attack for best results.
After that place the M9. Next insert a Chorus, I use a NUX Mod Station cuz its Stereo, cheap and has several different mod EFX , Next a Delay. NUX again cuz its Stereo, cheap and quite
Note when your sound is highly colored you don't need really expensive EFX just make sure the S/N ratio is good.
Then finish the chain off with some flexible EQ to contour the over all sound. I have over 50 pedals in my Studio Pedal Board Setup and must say this Box gives my main rhythm and lead Guitar sound a beautiful Rock and Roll orchestra feel. All individual sounds are quite usable with this combination... note that anything less than this signal chain and the M9 has only a few usable sounds.
In short the M9 is like a Synth with out EFX and a good amount of processing Thanks Tim Mungovan

Decent Pedal - a bit pricey

Great tones from this pedal but it is hard to control the volume. I use a compressor leading into my pedal chain and it helps. If you don't have a compressor you will have trouble with this pedal. Also - it works much better with a Strat than a Tele for me. I thought I would want to use 100% wet tone for the full effect but this does not sound as good as when you blend in the guitar too. Not the most practical pedal - but it is fun and makes some cool sounds.Read full review...

Out-of-this-world, unique guitar fx pedal.

Excellent electro-harmonix build quality and programmed sound effects. The #1 Orchestra mellotron setting is just amazing and one of the best pedal effects I've ever heard or used for guitar. The #3 Flute setting is very good also and, though it has some limitations depending on what exactly is being played, I never could have imagined that a guitar would be able to make musical sounds like that. I also like and find use for some of the other settings; they basically track well although the articulation of the musical sounds can become distorted or quite different from the actual instrument the setting is supposed to be simulating...but they still sometimes produce some very interesting, usable musical sounds (just not what one might be expecting. It's kind of hit-or-miss with those. Still, there are a number of variations that can be dialed in to be creative and have fun with. The dry/effect dials and dual output features are also excellent, and the Attack and Sustain dials provide the ability to add some nuances that work more noticeably on some of the sound settings than others.Read full review...

Better than average emulation at a reasonable price.

An extremely accurate representation of the original tape-based Mellotron tones at a reasonable price.
It's easy enough to set up and use straight out of the box and the sound is just incredible.r>I use mine in the effects loop on my EHX Superego + pedal which adds variation and really fleshes out the freeze, layer and gliss functions, though you could just as easily run it in an effects chain, depending on what you're trying to do.
For the money, a very unique and functional pedal that offers a decent variety of tonal variations and ease of use, especially well suited to ambient music.
I highly recommend it.Read full review...

it's good

it's good. although my package came with a broken power adapter. had to use my own. other than that, it's perfectly like new, with box & sticker, manual, catalogue, everything.

the box is not for complex playing, bend & vibrato is a no, the samples vibrato on its own. hammer on/pull off is ok, sliding might sound a little funny. use it with a compressor, blend with your your other boxes, learn the right way to use it, and it can create a very pretty sound.Read full review...

Great if you know how to use it

Was looking for something to replicate other instruments to add layers in loop pedal and make a truly one man band rig.

So this pedal is awesome, it saves me so much effort by replacing tweaking eq, tones, and other pedals while even offering more then I was looking for initially.
However beware if you are 100% informed in its capability and functionality you could be very disappointed. Fortunately I wanted for over a year and meanwhile researched every facet of it, so I knew it’s limitations/querks...
Def requires skilled dynamic control in that it’s fairly sensitive dynamically(combine with compression pedal if needed :) ) , maybe a con for beginners, but I think that’s part of what makes it sound more authentic to the instruments so I like it.. plus it offers a lot of tweaking room for so many tastes and possibilities! Been using for last 3 hours so can’t say for sure but I believe it’ll remain on my pedal board long term. Actually now I’d love to get the synth9 in conjunction hahaha
