The most organic of all

I have tried several octave dividers - H9, Axe FX, Whammy DT, and in my opinion this one sounds and feels best - for what it does. Tracks wonderfully - even speedy legato passages - and doesn't wobble. The added effects are a nice welcome, and the 8 presets are a great way to store your favorite settings. The operation is very intuitive, no need to read the manual. POG2 takes up some space on the pedalboard - keep that in mind. The build quality is a bit on the cheap side - especially for the price - but other than that I absolutely love this pedal.Read full review...

This is simply the best Octave pedal available. All others pale next to it.

This is one of my favorite pedals. I have some very boutique, very coveted pedals in my board and studio. But this is the one I covet most. While I don't use the Octaves all the time, but it does have some additional features which make it much more usable than I thought it would be when I purchased it. It has a detune effect which makes it good for a chorus effect. The effects portion can be bypassed totally so if you don't like them they wont be in the chain. I like that it can do a really good Organ sound which is spot on for the organ at the church I play at.
I have the Digitech Whammy, and the Boss OC3 Super Octave. This one beats them all any day of the week. It is true bypass, and has 8 programmable settings. It is much more expensive 324.00 as opposed to the 200.00 (Whammy) and 130.00 (OC3) but if you want an octave that can be used with chords, that can go down 2 and plus 2 simultaneously, then you want this one. I thought my other octaves would be the last I would buy when I got them, but i know this one will be the last. Well constructed, shouldn't break. I have many electro harmonix pedals and they are all working well after a long time of use. The sound is the most natural of the octaves I've owned or used. If you turn down the original dry signal, you can do bass sounds easily. you can use it with other effects and even get those great Jimi sounds with a nice fuzz box. If you can afford this one buy it now. If you can't just know that eventually you will be buying this if you want the best possible octave sounds. It would be nice if it had shifting capabilities (via a footcontroller) but I honestly don't miss it.
The only thing in the octaves range that it does not do is the harmonizing aspect (+ or - steps from the original signal) but if you incorporated that it would probably mess the whole thing up. Works great, sounds great

The POG2 is a Vatican assasin warlock (in a good way)

Since the original POG was released, the effects it delivered were considered truly unique and versatile. I've never seen another pedal that packs so many octave variations into one package. The release of the POG2 marks a big improvement over both the original POG and Micro POG for one reason: Presets.

I owned the original POG and, while I could get the same great sounds from it (with the exception of the two octaves below), it took some tweaking to find that perfect blend. Therefore I eventually found just one sweet spot that I liked, and left it set in that position. The problem is, the POG and POG2 don't just have one sweet spot -- they have MANY. In order to utilize the full potential of the old POG, you had to spend a good bit of time on the floor fiddling around with the faders. Case in point: Jamie Hince of The Kills used to gig with TWO of the original POGs so he could use a couple different POG effects without having to re-adjust between songs. The original POG was a $300-$400 pedal though, and what musician is gonna buy two of the same pedal at that price? Not me. Thankfully, the POG2 has arrived and I was able to sell my original POG in order to offset the cost of the upgrade. I still had to pay quite a bit for it, but the preset functionality has made it worth every penny. Now I'm not limited to just one octave effect, but I can choose between EIGHT custom presets! NICE!

So, even though it's sound capabilities are essentially the same as the previous POG products, the addition of presets on the POG2 makes it feel more like a multi-effect, and less like a one-trick pony.

It's Red, it's Fun, it's POG2!

Warning!...The POG2 can be habit forming, and my right hand goes into instinctive crab-like postures every time I walk by it's blinking carcass!...Simply put, I hate switching from a six string to a twelve string in the middle of a set, and no one likes keeping one in tune either...So when someone told me the POG did a fair twelve string imitation, I gave it a try...It does indeed deliver the desired effect, but what struck me most was it's ability to sound as if an organ, an octave bass, a 12 string, and a harpsicord are playing in unison!...Musical scores like Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Soul Kitchen, California Girls, She Said She Said, For Your Love, any song that has recorded layers of psychedelia are now within reach thanks to this thing, all with the touch of a button...You have to develop your right hand technique to get the effects, and I don't mean fingerpicking...You will be required to think like a keyboard player, but give it a week and you'll increase your band's repitoire without adding personnel!...What don't I like about the POG2?...Ok, the manual is woefully absent of advice about HOW one goes about achieving the desired settings, so your first few hours will be spent wondering what you just got yourself into, but be patient...Youtube has a few helpful clips...This thing is sure to be a classic.Read full review...

The POG2 or how my guitar sounded like an organ

This little gadget is awesome! It'll turn your guitar into a 12 string, a bass or a convincent organ with a move of the sliders (now i need a pedal that sounds like a rotating speaker). Ever wanted to make your guitar sound like a reverse recording? Got you covered on that as well! Add some distortion and it'll make some of the most massive sounds ever!

Some of it's functions are similar to those of a Digitech Whammy but you can't do chords on that one because of it's poor tracking. However the Whammy has an expression pedal so you can bend the octaves and what not.

It's a bit pricey for what it does tho. Electro Harmonix has some other fantastic marvelous pedals that manage to make even more exotic, mysterious and esoteric sounds for about $100 bucks less. So if you are on a search for experimental sounds you might as well get another pedal. But if you know and want the POG sound well there's no other pedal that can pull it off like it.

Super Fun

Lots of cool sounds can be made with this pedal. You can get organ type sounds and regular octaves. Fell in love with it instantly. The one I bought was used so it was a little beat up but not too bad otherwise I would have given it 5 starsRead full review...

a small orchestra

I was looking for something that would improve the bottom end range on my guitar and came across a reference to the POG in a online discussion between some players. It sounded interesting, I read some reviews and found them convincing. I think its amazing. Logical, easy to learn, and a great collection of presets. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that I havent been able to line it up against any of the other polyphonics to do a side-by-side comparison with my rig.Read full review...

Love the Sounds

Easy to add to pedal board, and the programable options are easy to understand and listen for. I use with guitar, bass and baritone guitar (crazy sounds). Small footprint and great that it has bypass. Don't want to overdo it with every song but cool enough. If you add in some heavy distortion it sounds pretty cool as well as some really echoy sounds. Watched a few videos on youtube to see what I was getting first but overall I love it.Read full review...

Hammond B3 on your guitar!

Do you want to convert your guitar in a Hammond B3? Yes, you can!

This pedal is just a magic box! Your guitar can sound like a bass if you use the -1 octave slider and leave the other sliders down.

Want to shake the ground? Dig in -1 and -2 octaves along with the dry signal and your guitar will dig deeper than ever.

Want 12 string sound? Set +1 octave and dry signal and half way LP filter and you will get that sound.

Mess up with the sliders and buttons and you will find out that your guitar can sound like an organ. Endless possibilities of tones... just fantastic!

An amazing and brilliant guitar pedal

I am a retired electronic Organ service man who plays lead guitar . The Pog2 is an amazing and brilliant guitar pedal, and
I am having a great time working out the the hundreds of sound settings available. I am using the Pog2 in front of a Chorus and
then a Digital Delay pedals and get some fantastic sounds. The octaver part is like the 16ft - 8ft - 4ft - 2ft - 1ft Flute stops of an organ with constant and variable settings.
Thanks for developing such an amazing piece electronic engineering. Vernon Behrens
