Great Little Power Supply
Great little power supply. And a great DIY/educational kit. Good quality and works perfectly. Replaced a wall-wart power supply, which was very noisy when powering audio circuits. This one, being regulated and filtered, is dead quiet. Instructions are detailed and complete, including an explanation of how it works. Okay, the dial (voltage selector) doesn't have any markings, so you have to hook it up to a multimeter to determine its various voltages, but that's no big deal and I'd probably do that anyway just to eliminate variations. Have purchased other Elenco kits, which were also all good quality. This is more than a kit, it's a great power supply, which I'll be using to power electronics projects and anything else that needs it.Read full review...

This is a bad mess from start to finish.
Poorly made circuit board with very thin printed circuit layer. Holes in board too large for components and solder in the kit not sticking to board or components. Potentiometer was cross threaded and could not tighten down to box. Went in the garbage and out over $30 bucks on this one. A very frustrating kit I have ever worked on.Read full review...

If I built the power supply nicely, I can get more then15v.
The power supply is very good and can be used instead of a battery. I can have up to 15 volt connected to any device that needed that type of voltage.

Does not document all the steps needed (cut the red leads on the transformer or not??). Threads on the pot stripped. LED is junk. Kit was useless since pot can't be mounted.

I ordered this, not realizing it was a kit. That was my fault for not reading the entire ad. When I started building it I was very impressed with how easy the directions were to follow. Previous soldering experience is very helpful. Everything went very smoothly. When I finished and tested it, it worked perfectly. I can't stress how impressed I was with the instructions.
