Exactly what I was looking for!

Although I haven't been able to get the handle back on straight so the on/off switch is actually on the top side, it doesn't affect the ability to use it. I think the connecting piece can be turned, I just need a pair of pliers that will grip well. The picture shows it is able to be in 3 pieces, so I need to attempt turning it. However, it is exactly what we were looking for. The kids love to look at rocks, etc and this is just like one a friend has from one of his college classes!
