Great scanner.

It is light and you can scan multiple pictures. Each gets converted to a single file, so easy to archive.

Basic No Frills Scanner for Home Use

A basic featured entry level scanner that gets the job done for most home users. However, don't expect a robust built scanner with many convenience features. You get what you pay for in this day & age. Older Epson Perfection scanner such as 1640SU were much better built but sadly are no longer Epson supported for Windows 10 64 Bit. What I miss most? This new scanner lacks a on/off switch. It stays on and every time your computer starts, well the scanner starts with a buzzing sound. I understand that Epson wants to sell new scanners but it's a shame that older ones are only obsolete because drivers are not available.Read full review...

If I had to do it again, I would. It's what I was looking for at a reasonable price.

Not a color scanner. Problems downloading drivers - kept saying they were corrupted. Don't know why but finally got it to work.

Interface software not very user friendly but not impossible to use with a little common sense.

Single page scanner. Interface allows adding pages before original scan is saved (once saved, not updatable). Great resolution. Bare bones scanner, which is what I wanted.

high quality scan images albeit slow + noisy.

pros:
easy to do a basic scan once you have the software (need internet connection if no CD drive)
Physical scanner is pretty thin however could be susceptible to breakage (especially the lid)
**high quality scans (adds a little grain to the image but over very good)
price

cons:
the stitching scans together function doesn't seem to super quick and easy
A little noisy
A little slow

Overall, cheap + gives high quality images but probably not great if you are trying to do large or high quantity scans quickly.

**added a scan of magazine cover. not sure if full quality will be shown.

scans photos very well, and crops automatically size of photo

Works very well, easy to scan, but the software is not intuitive. Several programs come with it. Colors and details are excellent.

Pretty good little scanner

You need to download all the software first before using it! I had to copy the files to a flash drive on another computer that didn't have a cd player. The Epson Pro software is able to save as pdf. Works great, a bit outdated looking interface, but ok.Read full review...

Be careful when buying for a Mac

I bought one of these and plugged it into my new iMac. It didn't power up. I tried it with my MacBook Air and same story. Figured it was a lemon so ordered another. Same story so I sent it back too. No idea what is going on but it sure didn't work for me. Maybe the power out of my USB ports on both machines wasn't enough and the unit does not have a separate power cord. Sorry not to have it because it looks like a great unit.Read full review...

Epson v39 scamner

Worth the low price. Slow scanning though. Only requires USB computer hook up, the reason I purchased it.

Not great on Mac

Keeping mind that this is an inexpensive scanner, the software and drivers don't work well on the Mac. Relatively slow response on all the included software including the workhorse Epson Scan app. Still cannot get the scanner hardware buttons to work on the scanner even after multiple conversations with Epson Support. On the rare occasion they do work ( 1 in 50 chance/circumstance), they are agonizingly slow and essentially useless.Read full review...
