Great

The only thing that I and many others would like to see in this fantastic printer is LARGER ink cartridges. This printer has everything that a professional photographer likes and more. I read a lot of reviews, both user and professional, almost all say the same thing "fantastic printer". The size and weight is geared toward home use or small studio without giving up any quality in prints. I have used pro versions of Epson printers for eight years and this printer lives up to the same high quality and reasonable cost. I use the printer for art purposes, my photos are important, quality is a must. The Epson R2400 delivers, I upgraded from an Epson Pro 2200 (works perfect after over two years), I wanted the best available for Black & White photo printing and this machine is perfect for my needs. Set up is fast and easy, ten minutes from the box to producing the first print, easy instructions, I had no problems. The on screen menu is easy to read (much like the epson 2200), the difference is with the photo paper options that are available, more. The menu reflects which black cartridge is loaded, Photo or Matt black, an instant reminder of which papers you are recommended to use. Great printer, highly recommend.Read full review...

This printer is made to be used in photography

The printer arrived in better condition than I was expecting. That was a nice surprise. I bought this printer to increase the quality of the photographs That I print. The colors are amazing, they really pop out. This particular printer uses three separate black inks and the resulting quality of the photos, equals the black and white prints, that would take me hours of work in the darkroom.Read full review...

Epson R2400

This is an entry level printer for advanced amatuers and professionals in the graphic arts especially photography for three reasons. First the K3 inks it uses are pigment-based. This provides levels of vibrance and permanance not possible with dye-based inks.

Second, every paper manufacturer, not just Epson, provides profiles for use with this printer and its inks. ICC profiles are an absolute requirement for accurate representations of colors in a color managed workflow.

Finally, it can handle larger prints than most printers--up to 13" x 44".

In short, if you are a photo enthusiast or seriously into the graphic arts then this is a printer for you. Printers in this price range from other manufacturers, though very capable, simple do not measure up in the three areas I mentioned above, especially in the area of available ICC profiles.

A giant leap of quality for consumers

The R2400 is a giant leap in quality for photographers that demand high end prints. I've used this on nature and landscape photography with great results. Anyone moving up to a 2400 will be very pleased with the color and black and whites this produces.

I would say this is the closest one can get to professional printing that's affordable.

This is a great printer!

This is the second R2400 I've owned and the print quality is excellent. That's why I bought it again. The 13" wide roll format allows me to print images for exhibits.

Epson Stylus Photo R2400 Standard Inkjet Printer

I needed a professional photo printer for my art quilt projects.
The printer has 8 ink cartridges (Cost about $99 on Amazon)...I was warned that the
ink was expensive. I don't plan to use it for general office work for that reason.

I liked the quality of the color printer, and the fact that you could manage your printing with
the printer.

Still and Amazing Printer...

Might be a little old, but still a great printer. Only issue is that it uses alot of ink and they aren't cheap. But if you want quality prints, Epson is the best way to go. With newer models on the market, picking up a used one for around $300 is a bargain! Wish it had Wifi though...Read full review...

Epson Stylus Photo R2400 Ink Jet Printer

Very happy with this printer particularly because it has resolved the issue of black and white printing without color cast. It also does a beatiful job with color printing. It's my first foray into printing out of the old school black and white (wet) darkroom and I've been encouraged with the results.Read full review...

Epson Sylus R2400 Printer

I have purchased several of these as they are the basis of my direct to garment printer. Parts are crazy expensive through the dealer, and a whole printer can cost 100 bucks in running condition. I have one completley torn down in parts bins, and another in good running condition that prints great photos. But, it could be ripped apart tomorrow to repair my "money maker".Read full review...
