My First Replacement Electric Guitar Strings
My pre-owned electric guitar arrived with a missing string so I needed a set of new strings right away. I studied the various types of strings and their ratings from light to heavy. Being a new player I decided on the light rated strings and I felt that this company presented theirs in an understandable way. So I bought theirs. I'm a long time Ernie Ball Super Slinky guitar strings user and felt like trying a different type of strings. Have to say I really disliked the Extra Slinky, to the point of taking them off after less than an hour of playing. They sound flat and have very little resonance. My go to set
Been using these strings since the 80s. As one famous player put it, I just don't want to work that hard. These strings are way easier to bend and manhandle than heavier sets. Great twang and harmonics. My only negative is that after fours hours rocking and sweating a club gig the fat strings lose some of that twang. Worth it in my book. Highly recommended for beginners who haven't built up their callouses, and for old timers with chronic soreness in their fingers and elbows. Best gauge for soloing
Great solos can be achieved by using extra lite gauge ernie ball guitar strings tuned to Eb like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn (Though they used multi-gauge mixing in medium & heavy gauges), I find it like playing on silk, very easy on the fingers, and I can fly like a Lear Jet.Read full review...

Why work so hard?
These strings saved my hands. I play two nights for four hours every Friday and Saturday nights. I used 10s for a long time and my hands would hurt all night. Extra Slinky Guitar Strings 2225
These are some extremely light gauge strings. You'd better have a light touch when playing. I have them on a telecaster and the tone is different from the .009's I was using. Not better or worse, just different. A little thinner sounding but tone adjustments at the amp fixed that. Incredibly easier to fret and bar chords. A thinner pick helped with the sound, too. Bend and Don't Break!
Strings are obviously very particular to a given guitarist. For the money (that is why I give them 5-stars) these strings provide on most solid body guitars both warm and bright tones, but they are average. I use these only when cost becomes priority over performance, which is on certain guitars.
They sound pretty good, but they are nowhere near the top of the heap for tone. They stand up to everything you would want (heavy bending, whammy bar dives and pulls). They take a little while to break in (stretch) compared to some other brands, but once they're broken-in they have a decent lifespan with consistent tone across much of their useful life.
For a Hollow-body, I would perhaps use as D'Addario ECG23 Chromes Flatwound Extra Light.Read full review...

Ernie Ball Slinky String
For the last 50yrs I've play on Ernie ball slinky strings. As I get older I don't play as much and my fingers hurt a little. I read an article about someone with the same problem and they started using super slinky's. I love them. They have very close to the same output but don't hurt mu fingers as bad, allowing me to play longer sessions.

Great Strings !
At 62, I need the bend-ability of the 8's and lighter gauge for that matter. Been using these strings since the 70's in one gauge or another. I used to use DARCO FUNKY 9's in the late 60's (they came with an extra B & E string) then changed to these. To me they last longer. To my ears, they're the best strings for all around Rock songs. They're on 15 of my 17 guitars, so that should say something and they just went on my brand new Custom Shop strat with Floyd Rose.
Like everything else in life, it's a matter of preference.

Great Strings
I use this model on my electric guitars. I have 3 Fenders and an Epi LS. I have tried others but Billy Gibbons says don't work so hard. These have the best feel for me. I'm no lead player, but I can keep rhythm with the best of them. They are the best for my 68 year old fingers. Love all the light and slinky Ernie Ball strings.
