Animal Instinct Unleashed!!!

I love the Far Cry series so I was hoping for magic when I seen they were porting to the 360. But sadly that is all it is, a port. You do get Instincts and Evolution but they are the exact same games that you played on the Xbox. Nothing new is added and the graphics are last generation. But if you have not experienced Far Cry, this is a perfect opportunity. This is probably the best competition Halo has had in the 1st person shooter genre as far as Xbox Live play goes. The thing that makes this game different from others is a great map maker that can allow you to have endless battles. You will probably spend hours just messing around with it. The gameplay is fun but can feel a little too linear even though you may constantly find yourself lost in the jungle. AI may be too smart and will kill you a lot so be prepared to die. There is a lot of game on this disc but you may have already played it once and I really can't recommend a purchase if you already own the originals. Rent before you Buy. 4/5Read full review...

great game

I loved this game. Generally i like to play a game on hard and take it slow to enjoy the whole depth of the gameplay. But lately i havent had much time for video games, so i did it on easy just so i could blaze through the game and enjoy its entirety. I only have one complain about this game, and that is that you aren't sufficiently notified when you're being shot. i'll be in an intense killing spree and all the sudden a stray bullet will kill me before i notice my health has gone down at all.
but other than that, everything is perfect. the story is great and combines all the killing of a 007 game with all the travel and scenery of a more
"T-rated " adventure game. I also found it very easy to keep track of what was going on in the story without having to get cought up in overly long chit-chat cut scenes.

in shor. This game is awesome. you will like it. So you should buy it.

Xbox game ported for the 360

Its a xbox game thats ported to the 360 console.

A little more detail, more smoother, a little but its a fair title.
There are two games in this title.
One is the xbox Instincts story and the next is the Evolution story.
All are somewhat the same in difficulty, easy, normal and hard or.. hunter, predator almost all play the same, no difference in difficulty. The difficulty levels dont stack which means on some games, when you played the highest difficulty and won, you unlocked medium and easy difficulty achievements too.

In Farcry your going to have to play each difficulty to unlock each difficulty achievements. One thing that does stack are the kills and the missing Kreiger samples, for example you can get 40 backstab kills from a easy campaign and a harder campaign.

Using cheatcodes will NOT negate the achievements, so that will help you.
the "Bloodlust" give full feral power, "UnleashHell" is infinite ammo but still need to reload and "IamJackCarver" restores full health were the most helpful cheats to me.

Another thing, I found that lying down will make you immune to melee attacks but not to gunfire. I used this technique in the first part of the final battle on the Insincts story, I went to the corner, lied flat and shot the spawning mutants then got up did the second part with the boss. This is helpful on the bridge level with the two snipers on the Evolution story, in the middle, behind the sand bags (on left when you first encounter the bridge and the doors close) if you work this glitch, you can snipe the jumping guys and the two snipers (even on the highest difficulty)

Multiplayer is lacking if not empty, if you can get another person to help you, you can do most of the counting achievements easily, trap kills, grenade kills, runover vehicle kills, headshots. For the capture the flag, capture the sample and predator achievements, this can be done by yourself. Done by winning matches, not by points in each match, go for the lowest point, lowest time and play (with) by yourself.

The achievements unlock after the match ends.
Your 360 console should be in good condition before attempting the Uber geek achievement.

A Cut Above Instincts

Many reviews out there say that Evolution, which is basically the Xbox 360 game inside the Predator package, is not a whole lot better than the Xbox version of Instincts. Well, I beg to differ. After attenpting to complete the improved Xbox version of Instincts that comes with the 360 game, I found myself growing tired of the repetitive gameplay. Heck, I almost stopped right there. But I had to check out the Evolution story, which was made for the 360. I was immediately releived to see that the gameplay was much smoother than Instincts, the storyline was better, and the graphics were considerably more beautiful. However, don't expect to see anything that pushes the limits of the 360. In fact, aside from the new water effects, I didn't see anything that could not have run on the original Xbox. Still, Crytek has created a really fun game that I recommend for shooter fans who own an Xbox 360.Read full review...

Not the top five FPS but not bad...

At first I wasn't impressed. Good graphics, but game play needed some work. As I played on though, I was hooked. This may be because I am a game junkie or perhaps the game is better than I wanted to give it credit for! It has a decent story line and the levels are sufficient length, not too long not too short. It needs the option to save progress as opposed to the occasional autosave. Controls are decent as far as button layout but the movement of the character is lacking a little, but it's not impossible to get used to fairly quickly. Decent weapons and abilities, though nothing really special. If you are looking for quick achievement points, look elsewhere. You will work for these. No complaints really with this game, all in all it is a worthy FPS.
Bottom line; Good looking graphics, stiff player control, good levels with decent challenges, no major problems, definitely worth checking out.

Far Cry Instincts Predator: Worth Your $60?

The new Far Cry is a game which contains the original Far Cry Instincts campaign and then another one, the new Evolution campaign. So in a way you are getting two games for the price of one. Not to mention the huge multiplayer suite which offers tons of fun and shooting. The achievements keep you coming back for more as well.

The game is good with great graphics, very good gameplay and interesting stories that remind of you sci-fi flicks you used to watch in the movies. Ubisoft developed the game and I'm sure gamers have heard of this renown studio. I would like to keep this short so I'll just tell you that this game is good but may not be worth your 60 dollars. If you played the Far Cry for the PC and OG Xbox then this one may not be for you. However if you are totally new to the series then this game is perfect for you and is a must-buy.

In the end this is game is very good and if you haevn't had a chance to play the Far Cry games, the time has never been better.

NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL BUT FUN ANYWAY!

Gameplay - First off the gameplay is very solid. Theres a lot to do in the game.... First you can play instincs story mode wich took me about 12 hours to complete... And then you have the evolution story wich took me about 6 hours to complete. The single player is rock solid and will keep you busy a little while. The multiplayer is probablly the best part of the game feautring some great multiplayer modes as well as some great weapons.

Graphics- The graphics in this game look like a xbox game in a higher resolution but there not bad. They still look ok.

Sound- Not much I can say in sound its not excellent nor terrible.Solid sound all around Value- The pretty good value in this game. Featuring a lot to do in the single player aspect. As well as the multiplater aspect.

tilt- It all comes out to be a very solid game and should be at least rented by anyone who hasent played far cry and is a fan a fps...

Awsome Game

This game is excellent. There are two complete campaigns in the single player mode chock full of secrets. The mapmakr is incredibly easy to use but powerful nonetheless. I have created many maps that players online and guests and my house have deemed fit for the actual game.Read full review...

FarCry from perfection, but one of XBOX 360's best

Having played a demo of the original Far Cry Instincts for XBOX, I skipped over the enhanced XBOX 360 Far Cry Instincts/Instincts Preditor (which was really more of a FarCry 1 1/2 than a sequel), and went straight to FarCry 2 on PS3 (which was not really a sequel either, but rather another story and character altogether, along with a completely new game engine and graphics,- still, a great game in its own right).

Now that I have come back around to play FarCry Instincts and Preditor, I can appreciate it for it own worth,- though the environment is miniscule in comparrison to the expansive area that can be covered and traveled back and forth within without getting boring in FarCry 2.

FarCry Instincts/Preditor is a pretty basic firstperson shooter that while allowing for some interesting elements in exploring environments,- is conspicuously missing the natural expected elements that would make the experience more believable,- which would be some serious interactive wildlife. (FarCry 2 suffered the same failed imagination and creative element that should have made it more plausible,- such as no crocodiles attacking waterbuffalo or zebra crossing water,- and of course would have posed a heartpounding threat to players crossing water as well).

I cannot count the number of times I was point blank shooting an enemy in the face with a shotgun, only to have them continue to finish whatever stupid nonsense they were lipping off to me, as if I hadn't hit them,..NO DAMAGE,.. when I could have poked out their eye with the barrel! It doesn't occur continually, but happens enough to really piss you off,- when you work your ass off to stealthfully get the drop on them.

Both Preditor and FarCry 2 are great games, but have AI that can get inanely repetative in their actions and dialog, but provide enough variety in weapons, enemies and behaviour/tactics to continue to present a challenge and carry a reasonably well written storyline.

All of the FarCry games have replay value and are must have additions to any collectors library.

I have scored FarCry Instincts Preditor 4 of 5 stars, but that is relative to other console games published when it was. The PC version was better, and FarCry 2 still only scores 4 of 5 stars, in spite of being considerably better than its predecesor,- as I am rating it against console games that were published when it was and are its better.

far cry for the 360 review

this is actually a way revamped version of the great fps farcry instincts for the 360 with tons of added things like a new story and a map editor.

Story/Singleplayer: the story line is very good and takes a lot of turns you are jack carver but while you are on an island with a friend yours when you get injected with a weird liquid that slowly turns him into a creature with feral powers. the gameplay is solid and always has you on the edge of your seat with tons of weapons, vehicles and powers.

multiplayer: this in my opinion is where the game really shines. offline its 1-4 players versus wich was a blast to play with my friends. the online features up to 16 which is also very fun.

graphics: the graphics are very good.the enviroments couldnt look any closer to a real jungle while the character models are a little lacking the rest makes up for it.

extra: this game also featuers a brand new evolution story and a mission editor which works great.

overall this is a great game and i give it a 5/5
