Rock and ROLL on!

I have installed 2 of these on Jeff Beck "tribute" Stratocaster builds. They work great and look cool. Like most things, the second install was a lot easier than the first!. Make sure you file the new nut slot FLAT and get the edges clean so it fits down all the way:) Read full review...

Overly complicated, reeks of Emperor's mothballs

*warning: You need skills to install this*

Technically it's not a roller nut. Think Zero-nut, with 2 small balls per string after the intonation point that act as string guides.
The 6 metal inserts to set the height are worthless. Make a single spacer and sand it down to the required height. Increases coupling too.

With that said, it works well. So far...

Fender LSR Roller Nut

The Fender LSR Roller nut is a great piece of gear ( yes, gear) for any guitar with a trem system. A long time ago when I was working in a little guitar shop in Venice, CA a fairly well known player of the time told me he always soldered the ball end of his strings whenever he put a new set of strings on his guitar. He said it helped keep is guitar in tune because the ball end is where most of the stretching occurs. So I took him up on his idea and it works great!. I'll put a set of locking tuners (my preference are Sperzels, they're a great company to do business with and they are all American Made) on, too. I've been soldering my strings at the ball end for years now. And with locking tuners and the help of the LSR Nut I have a great locking trem system that needs very little maintenance or repair.Read full review...

Good upgrade from stock.

OK,
you better put your seatbelt on for this one! The first thing the instructions say is: Do not install this on your guitar! For real! I was like what?
Then I read the rest of the instructions. Very specific. If you follow them to the letter, markout, drill bit size etc. you'll get it done. If you have any doubt, bring it to your guy [girl]
Again, the drill bit size must be exact! [I purchased a set of numbered drill bits for this job]

I installed this on a home made 62 strat copy, that I built. With a big block non locking tremelo and this nut, the guitar stays in tune much better than stock.

Fender LSR Roller Nut

I just installed this on a Fender Showmaster. Same first as a Strat. Not too bad too install if you plan it out and take your time. The sizes of drill bit and philips driver are critical as noted in instructions. Came out great for me, but unless you have a lot of patience, I'd recommend a luthier installing it. As far as performance, I noticed the problem string I always had with knocking out of tune (G) was only slightly improved. Could be other setup issues that I'll have to look into, but overall I think I had the bridge set up fairly well. Looks pretty spiffy on the guitar though!Read full review...

More than one way to...

These LSR roller nuts are one of many methods to "fix" the tremolo / tuning issue with the Fender style tremolo.
If you are reading this you know about the constant tuning problem if you use the tremolo at all. The majority of the problem is in the nut of the guitar, and these roller nuts totally eliminate that problem.
Your strings will no longer "creep" thru the factory style nut but instead the strings actually roll across the nut like a conveyor.

Staggered tuning pegs of the locking variety, roller saddles, and a roller nut will keep you in tune.

Now the down side... if you are not cool with woodworking at all, hire a tech. to install the roller nut. You CAN mess up your fret board in a second if you do not understand the methods involved.
I used an old metal file I had in the shop, an Exacto knife, and a tiny drill bit to install mine, and it went very smoothly but I rig up everything I need.

There are loads of videos of this install so check them out.

Worth the extra work to install but use care or have a pro install it. Instructions included.

Requires a slight offset towards bridge. About 80 thousands of an inch on my strat. Thought I'd try this out on my Floyd equipped guitar instead of a locking nut. It does actually stay in tune well with moderate use of the wammy bar. Recommend using a couple of roller string trees as well. Nice addition if, like me, you don't like having to loosen the nut clamping screws to get more adjustment dialed into the Floyd bridge fine tuning adjustment screws.Read full review...

One of the best upgrades you can do on a strat!!

The installation requires a bit of patience and a dremel to do it right. But the results you get from changing out the old nut are worth the process. Forget about having to retune every time you use your whammy bar or you get a nice bend in your lick.

The solid construction also adds more sustain to your notes and unlike other saddles you might use, bone or equivalents it doesnt wear in, to the point of having to do drop in repairs.

In any case, I recommend it, if you are a strat guy. do yourself a favor and jump on the wagon.

Great price on a very good upgrade. I have had many and love them.

Every telecaster is greatly improved with this roller nut. Great price and is easy to install for anyone with some skills in working with wood. Slow and easy. They show how to do it without a router and that is the best way.Read full review...

Great product!

I installed this on my Fender MIM Stratocaster, and it made SUCH an improvement to the playability, tuning stability, sustain, and tone. Great addition to any Stratocaster. I highly recommend it! You need a good luthier to cut the fretboard slot just right when installing the roller nut. Don't try to do it yourself, unless you're a master woodworker and luthier.Read full review...

Roller Nuts?

I like roller nuts, I can not lie, these nuts are so good your guitar whammy will fly!
Yes as long as you get it in the proper position, works really well.
Beats my bone nuts by miles. Guitar actually stays in tune now with deep whammy bends.
Thank you Fender.
