The original look of a Telecaster style guitar.

The early telecasters came with this ashtray cover as it is called. Most Tele players don't use one. I recently found an offset Tele by a different manufacturer. This cover fit over the bridge easily. I like to rest my hand on the top of it while I play. You have to be able to remove it to change strings. It comes off quickly, but is secure when pressed down to lock in. I recommend it for users who like the look or find it a asset to your playing style. AMENRead full review...

Fender Telecaster “ashtray” bridge cover

This cover seems just like the originals. The problem is... they don’t fit. They’re too loose and do not stay on. In fact, they fall right off. Fender tells me that they have had issues with these plates not fitting the classic models because of the difference in string spacing. Seems like a poor excuse. I would be careful about buying one. I made it fit .

Mine went on and fit tight as long as it was crooked. Upon investigation I noticed the dimples that are supposed to hold it on are not in the correct place on one side. causing it to fit crooked. I held it in place where it is supposed to be and whacked it with a rubber mallet making a new dimple in the correct place. Now it's straight!

Makes guitar look good but it makes it harder to play. I put it on when its hangin on the wall I see it and it looks so sexy that i pick it up and wann aplay it even more with that cover. When i play i take it off immidietly lol. Its a very nice piece tho. makes your guitar look classy. It changes the tone of the guitar ever so slightly. Fender Ashtray Bridge Cover Review

I bought this cover for the bridge of my new Squire Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster. It popped right on! The cover is flexible enough that it 'could' be squeezed or stretched slightly to fit others....>I will also note that adding the cover changed the tone and volume of the bridge pickup. It made it mellower and quieter, matching it more to the neck pickup in volume. This was fine at church and it looks BOSS! However, for serious Country playing, the cover will have to come off to get that TWANG!!!
This is a fine piece, especially for the money, and Squire should have included it with the Classic Vibe.

Adds the look of the original Tele to your instrument.

Sturdy item. Nice finish. Gives the guitar a completely different look. More finished appearance.
Had to bend the sides in a hair (by hand) to make it fit snugly, but I already knew that from reading other reviews. I definitely like the look and feel and you will too.
