This one stays unopened

This game alone has rocked the RPG world. There is so much relation to the story to todays world. The story is so deep it's as this game were a prophcy to happen but stays with US (who played) like an omen. It gets a 5 star rating. But, this game did not solo smooth out the RPG world for credit of all RPGs. But the fact is believed the greatest RPG of it's time. Back in the 1980s were such as dungeons and dragons that were the 'main' reasons behind the Growth of the RPG world. But you will need a love for RPG games all around to have a taste for story lines and less impressive graphics and respect for retro playing and/or history to enjoy the earlier RPGs. start with looking up SSI (company) or D&D (trade mark), these are now owned by wizards of the coast (company). And please. enjoy the game - game on....Read full review...

Outdated

I'm sure the game was amazing for it's time, but the graphics and gameplay don't hold up. I would either go with the PC version with higher res graphics or wait until the game is remastered for modern displays.Read full review...

Final Fantasy is finally back

The story is wonderful, and I actually really liked the controversial ending.

Set in the brief beginning portion of the original, Remake puts a lot more detail into the events of that portion of the story. This leads to what was originally a roughly 5-hour area in the original feel like a full-length Final Fantasy title. The battle system is particularly fun, successfully blending real-time action with the slow, menu-based combat from past games. The visuals and music are also a very strong part of the game, which is a staple of the Final Fantasy series.

In summary, this game was worth every penny, and I’m very glad I was able to play it.

People who played it are the only ones who will play it again.

Ebay asks if the graphics are good. The answer is the baked graphics are good, the sprites look horrible (even for PS1). Like an N64 game. Old people who've played it would play it again, I doubt young people would. The story tends to be more dramatic than what you're doing. For some reason you fly out of the Shinra building on a motorcycle in a giant cinematic but it doesn't make much sense that you come to the end of the road and suddenly no one is chasing you. And you can't skip cutscenes or esper cinematics. And you get these things called Huge Materia that do nothing but tiny pieces of materia give you magic skills, its like ok ..

You can try it, emulate it somewhere, I bought it 'cause I have a save but any PS1 game cam be emulated (alot of them are ports anyways)

Final Fantasy VII

I bought this as a gift for my cousin and he loved it. It shipped in a sturdy box, and it came with everything pictured. All three discs were in very good condition along with the original manual which was also in very good condition. The game came in its original black label case, and each disc plays as if they were new. Super happy!!!Read full review...

The best RPG to ever hit the Playstation.

While i'm sure every Castlevania:SOTN fan will disagree this was and always will be the most influential RPG to hit the Playstation. This was my first RPG as well, so my baseline is high. The graphics weren't even close to groundbreaking in anyway, the true quality is in the story line. In 20 years I've not seen one FF come close to this, although VIII will always have a special place in my heart. Read full review...

Final Fantasy 7 vs. DS Final Fantasy 4

I recently got a Nintendo DSi and picked up Chrono Trigger and FFIV. I finished CT and am at the final boss in FFIV. Having enjoyed my personal revival of RPG's I decided to look into FFVII since I was 19 when it game out but never played it. I am only 20 hours in so I can't give a full review, but it has been fairly enjoyable so far. The graphics are similar to a DSi title so it is a natural transition. The overall story is o.k. There are some really wierd characters that for me kind of take me out of the story line a bit, a talking fortune telling machine with a cat riding it's back? That's a little odd. All things considered though it is a fun experience. That being said I would say this game is best for the hardcore rpg fan. The graphics are rough to look at and there isn't much guidance in game as to what to do and where to go. Plus, if you don't use a strategy guide you are going to miss probably 60% of the game. It's also a little easy on the combat but difficult in that if you miss something you often can't get it later in the game. I accidentaly sold an item early in the game, and come to find out it's the only place in the entire game, like an hour in that you can get that item. I'm now left to play 60+ hours or so without it, or throw away 20 hours of gameplay and start over.

So final verdict FF7 vs. FF4 on the DS, I would say FF4 on the DS is the better game today, but if you are a hardcore type you will not be dissapointed with FF7.

AWESOME!

GAME: Final Fantasy VII
CREATORS: Square Enix (www.square-enix.com)
RELEASED: JAPAN: January 31, 1997 / USA: September 7, 1997 / EURO: November 17, 1997

INFO:

Final Fantasy VII is the highest selling Final Fantasy game considering that their are over 11 Final Fantasy games out that is an awesome achievement. More Final Fantasy games are being made, however it would be hard for them to beat Final Fantasy VIIs record.

Final Fantasy VII has won tons of awards and dispite being over 12 years old now the game is still regarded by many to be the best game ever released.

Since its release their has been many sequels to the game such as, Crisis Core for the PSP, Advent Children a movie for DVD and UMD and Dirge Of Cerberus a game for the Playstation Two.

The music that has been composed by mainly Japanese master Nobou Uematsu is incredible and there has been many shows featuring his music talents and most shows have been sold out ones. His music to many stands as the best music in the world and Nobou is highly respected because of his songs.

As well as featuring incredible music the game has great graphics the attention to detail is phenomanal and whilst the Playstation One was still in its prime the games graphics where classed as one of the best.

The game spans out on a total of 3 discs giving you hours upon hours of gaming pleasure.

STORYLINE:

The story makes you control a guy named Cloud Strife who joins team AVALANCHE to help them complete what he hoped to be a one off job, however soon enough they all realize they have to save the planet from certain death, could they do it?

The storyline is fantastic its really hard to tell you how fantastic without giving away spoilers, but its regarded by many to have the best storyline ever.

MY OPINION:

Well the game does feature my favourite video game character of all time, Sephiroth.
I do love the music, the storylines great but overall I think the games way over rated, sorry fans of the game.
This game is more like my third favourite game of all time.
I would highly recommened getting this game though you can usually find it available to buy on Ebay and Amazon.

MY OVERALL RATINGS:
MUSIC: 8/10
STORYLINE: 7/10
GRAPHICS: 8/10

TOTAL: 23/30

Awesome!

The same amazing game now, as it was in the late 90s, this is a gem that must be in everyone collection. Disk 1 came with a few micro scratches that hindered cutscene playback. But after some light polishing with scratch remover, it is good as new. At around 20 dollars, i feel like i hit the lotery with this game!Read full review...

It's a classic. One of the great original RPG's.

The good:
Compelling story line and awesome characters
Fun combat
Music that will be stuck in your head for the rest of your life

The Bad:
Graphics did not age well.
It can be difficult to find a working copy as the game is over 2 decades old.Read full review...
