Glory & Heartache
Two great films from Clint Eastwood , they make you think but are entertaining at the same time.
" Flags " shows battle from the American side but also the aftermath and pressure of the US heroes when they got home.
"Letters" shows both the cruel and compassionate side of some ordinary soldiers and officers in the Japanese Arm facing inevitable defeat at Iwo Jima.

Excellent Account of the Iwo Jima invasion during WW2 in the Pacific
Excellent film about the US Marines invasion of the Japanese held Island of Iwo Jima. Its nice to have a story that has been told from the viewpoint of both the Americans and the Japanese. A pretty graphic film with regards to battle wounds etc, but then that is how it really was.
