Just received my package last night and set it up. I'm glad I disregarded all the negative reviews of this product. It works the way it's supposed to and is easy to setup.

Poor connectivity

I have seen a lot of people complaining about connectivity, I bought it on a roll of the dice. And as soon as I plugged it in - I completely understood what people were talking about. So I started troubleshooting, this thing is SO sensitive to RF interference. I had it plugged into the power bar with all my other tank equipment and couldn't connect. Took it to another room and plugged it in, issue resolved. I set up the timer and output in another room and then plugged it in at my tank. Everything works very nicely.

I found that if I plugged the wifi unit into my tanks power bar and isolated it from my other equipment, it worked fine and could get decent range and solid connectivity.

If there wasn't the jumping through hoops everyone appears to be having, it would be an awesome addition to a beginner tank, if you want to plug it in with zero issue, look elsewhere.Read full review

good idea but has lots of bugs.

This would be a good product if they would work the connection problems out. I have a dedicated phone that runs just this app off the system wifi....thats about the only way you can work it. You have to be really fast to work it before the app loses connection with the network. The light itself sometimes looses connection and you have to reboot the app. If they would fix the internal wifi and upgrade app this would be a great product.Read full review

Compact easy connections

The unit was smaller than I expected, but straight thru waterproof connections are positive. A lot of reviews said the phone app was hard to use, because of the independent wifi access. I was used to independent wifi connections, because that's the way all aftermarket LED accessory lights work on cars, truck, and motorcycles. You just have to remember to switch back and forth between wifi networks in your phone settings. The instructions in the box are nearly useless, go to fluvalaquatics website, and there you'll find detailed instructions on Pdf that are easy to follow. No different than many electronics these days that come with no instructions, you have to go to their website. I'm running two Marine 2.0 LED lights with no problems, the first light is on Port 1, and the second light is on Port 2, and it has to be in that order. They simulate sun up, and sundown, along with some other tweaks in between. All I can say is if you don't go to their website and read the full instructions, you will be dis-appointed in this product.Read full review

Fluval should just stick to filters

Seriously what a piece of crap I can't believe this is a fluval product. First off it has its own "wifi" which only works within 10ft and doesn't always find its IP address so it might as well just have buttons on it or a cord to plug into your phone. Secondly it's so cheaply made it's ridiculous. Save your money and just buy the cheap timer since you kind of have to since the buttons on the 2.0 lights only work sometimes if lick your fingers. The 1.0 versions at least come with their own remote. Highly disappointed and should have listened to all the reviews. I guess at least my lights work but could have had that outcome with a lot less money on a different brand.Read full review

Glitches Like Crazy...i come home at 3 am sometimes and its still on...i can buy a damn 4$ christmas light timer to do better

Disappointing

Needs lots of work. Feels cheap. Has its own wifi does not connect to yours and I could not stay connected long enough to even figure out or play with the features on the app. Returned it immediately
