Save money and DIY

Super easy to DIY. Worth every penny saved by buying this and not going to the dealer. Was even able to set it to my key. Took about 45min (15+min of that was me trying to figure out why the old lock wouldn't let go of the housing, spoiler: there was a tab holding it in I kept missing). Found some videos online on how to take the door apart to get to the lock and done, new lock to replace the old damaged lock. For reference, the dealer wanted the vehicle for 2+days and several hundred to fix it. Also OEM part.Read full review...

OEM New Part

Better value than buying it from local Ford dealers.
Brand new with instructions. I needed to watch some YouTube videos to rekey it but it was not too bad. The hardest part was to disassemble the door to get the cylinder out.Read full review...

If you are a puzzle champion - try and tackel this job

The product is as pictured except you do get a parts sheet and a couple line drawings. If you watch the YouTube video for the ignition lock cylinder, you will have a idea how to assemble this as long as you have a good key for you Ford. It took me a couple hours to figure out that having the key is secret to correctly assembling the tumblers. Insert the key and install into the outer cylinder to check for smoothness of operation. Do not remove key while in the outer cylinder or you will have a hard time inserting the key and removing it.

The cylinder spring is the most difficult to install on the new cylinder.

Installing it in the car door latch is very difficult. As removing the old worn lock cylinder is very difficult and there are no instructions anywhere. So if you are not up to the challenge take to an automobile lock smith, but that will definitely cost you for all the labor involved. I can only tell you the original key can help remove the old cylinder.

The sheet says this was approved by Ford in 2008 as a replacement part for Ford Vehicles.
