Possibly one of the best brushes ever !
After having the FURminator recommended by several other friends with cats, I purchased one for my newly adopted cat, who has a combination cotton undercoat, and a medium long silken overcoat. It really does the job on both, removing any extra fur with ease, (and a little patience). It isn't rough like some of the wire brushes I've used on my former cats, and cleans easily with a push of a button. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be able to do a good job grooming their cat, and reducing hairballs and matting.Read full review

Awesome Tool!
This tool is awesome! My cat is shedding so bad right now and I have one of those mitts with the knubbies on it, but it only gets out so much loose fur, but with the Furminator, it gets out a whole lot of loose fur. I get done brushing my cat and I have what looks like another cat sitting in a pile. I have other brushes that my cat won't let me come near her with, but she likes this one, just wish she wouldn't wiggle around so much, makes my job a whole lot harder! I've been brushing her every 2-3 days while she's shedding and it is helping a lot and it makes her fur soft and shiny. Wish I would have bought one of these years ago.Read full review

The Furminator is THE BOMB!
I have purchased just about every comb imaginable for my persian cat. He has enough hair for two cats and no matter what I do, he always get matted. Enter the FURMINATOR - the first comb that does a great job without making him totally crazy. He actually allows me to comb his hair with it. It doesn't seem to creat pain as many other combs do and it does get a great volume of hair out everytime I use it. Works well if your cat will tolerate it.
My cat has long thick fur with an undercoat and the FURminator does seem to catch more of the undercoat. But it has a sharp edge which my cat is very leery of. As a result I find I have to use the conventional brush, which she likes, and alternate with just a few strokes of the FURminator before she skids away. I hope she will get used to it over time, but it definitely does not feel as comfortable on her body as the conventional brush.Read full review

removes cat fur very well
The larger FURminator does work much better than the more narrow FURminator (for cats 10#) to remove the fur that my 12# and 15# cats are shedding. The lever to push the fur off the comb is not helpful, but it's not in the way either. It seems sturdy enough and my other narrower FURminator has lasted at least 5 years.Read full review
