The perfect tool for the job.
Anyone that tries to remove the selector shaft seal with out this tool is wasting their time and risking damaging the aluminum transmission housing. This tool makes changing the seal quick and easy and is money well spent. Reasonable price too.Read full review

Size?
The puller part was .004 under sized for the shaft in my transmission. That doesn't sound like much until you try to use it. If you have the ability to resize it, then it works great. All my recommendations are based on the tool after the size was changed. later, I found out other people have had the same problem.Read full review

Room for improvement but it worked
Removal tool was very difficult to get over the shift lever. Had to force it on and grind a small bevel on the threaded end because I couldn't get it to engage the seal. Then it took a big hammer and some hard wacks and it went in. Then I tightened it up, inserted the long bolt, tightened that up and the seal came out. I had to move my exhaust out of the way. Also clean the junk out of the seal bore before installing the new seal. Lube the seal well and gently install over the shift lever by hand. Once you get it in straight as far as your fingers will reach then smack it home with the install socket. So did it work... yes. Could it be improved? YesRead full review

Worked as expected. Not sure if any other seal removal method would've worked in tight quarters..
I took a chance on it working on a TH180 (Tritronic) and it did with modification to allow use with longer shifter shaft. Also required a hole in the floorboard to access with tranny installed in car.

Solid tool, didn't fit my TH350 shift shaft
No idea if this is unique to my setup (may be as this tool has some pretty decent reviews), but in my case, a '77 TH350 bolted to a Chevy 305, the seal driver would not fit over the shaft. The removal tool wouldn't bite, but did fit well enough to drive the seal down without damaging it. Both parts are solid, and other than it not fitting over the shaft, I have no complaints.Read full review

Fits a Holden Trimatic too
I was able to use the tool to remove and replace the seal from a Holden trimatic transmission where all other attempts with screwdrivers and picks, etc had failed. No more oil leaks.A life saver.

Trying again!!!!
I purchased tool and it would not fit over shifter shaft, because of price I shelled out another 22.00 dollars for another one. I have not tried the new tool yet, but after I made attempts with the tool my leak has stopped. I may have had overfilled transmission (turbo 350) and had drained some fluid out, to possibly cure any high pressure issues which is why my old seal was possibly leaking. I will review new tool in the futureRead full review
