Just a quick review

I've had the G80 for 2 weeks, 2 rounds and 2 range sessions. On the range, it's awesome. Very easy to use. Love the fact that you do not have to change a club setting on the device when you switch clubs. Seems pretty accurate, but I am not a pro. Target practice, warm up and virtual rounds are more fun that I thought. Over the 2 range sessions only didn't read 2 shots, but they were bad, lol. On the course seems very accurate and easy to use also. Battery life. I haven't let the battery go down all the way, but after 1 round and and the driving range the battery was down to 50 percent.Read full review...

by Top critical review

Expensive but lacking some very important features.

This is very accurate device and it's GPS features are very useful on the golf course. I was surprised by the clarity of the display under bright sunlight. The launch monitor is very accurate giving you precise information about your performance with every golf club in the bag. However, there is a major flaw in this very expensive unit. It lacks the capability of keeping tract of your performance with every club. You cannot save the information for each club and, thus, cannot follow your progress over time. There are various devices available that can do that and for a lot less money. Read full review...

Budget friendly launch monitor and GPS

This is an amazing little device, smaller than an iPhone C. I bought it for the launch monitor feature as I was debating between the Sky caddie and this was not only $100 cheaper it had the added benefit of Garmin's catalog of courses. Additionally most YT reviews stated it was the more accurate of the two. It's been a great addition to the range sessions and after buying a new set of irons this year greatly improved my ability to hit my distances. Knowing the carry and roll out is something I've never had anything better than a guess before.Read full review...

Lightweight, easy to use and keeps score

The G80 is very easy to use, relatively small, but the numbers are easy to read, especially here in Arizona where the sun is really bright. My brother has a Bushnell range finder and the Garmin reads about the same as far as the yardages go. I play in a golf league that uses a shotgun start and the G80 is very easy to change holes. I, also, think it would easily last through two rounds as when I play there is about 70% battery life left after the round. I usually leave it in the golf cart, but it fits nicely in my pocket and I, also, have the case with the clip that can clipped to your pants pocket(or belt), if you like. And it has a scorecard that is easy to use as well. So far the only con I have is that it does take a bit for it to start up, but that has not been a problem. Works very well and I like it very much.Read full review...

Screen could be a little brighter

Not as good as previous one. The screen is not as bright. It dose have some new features which are nice. When I practice now I measure the ball with each club. It’s still ver6 good. Nice size

Lightweight, fits in my pocket with lots of potential.

Seems to be close, but I haven't gotten to validate the yardage yet.
on course yardage seems accurate to center if the green.

Battery lasts reasonable, Used for 1-18 hole round and 2 nine holers so far, still have 50%.Read full review...

“plays like” feature is worthless

“plays like” feature is nothing more than an arrow up or down (more distance or less distance). no adjusted yardage is given. I can tell if the hole is uphill or downhill!! this is unlike the earlier version of the Approach that gave slope yardage. Very misleading and disappointing.

I haven’t tried the launch monitor yet so no comment

Accurate both on the course and at the range

Was smaller than I thought it would be but meets all expectations. The distances were the same as my laser and having the course ability to download is a plus. I am primarily using for golf swing analysis and plan to use the other features as I become more familiar with the device. Excited to try it out, think it will work out just fineRead full review...

Tracker & Teacher

Like the whole new model G80 when compared to my previous G8. No more plastic on/off button to wear out. Pleasantly surprised with the new features of Tempo Trainer and Launch Monitor. I now have serious game on the range and the course as well.Read full review...
