Garmin Nuvi 260W

In general, it is a great unit. However, we have had a couple occasions where it said the destination was on the right when in fact it was on the left. Also, wish the map display would display the name of the destination it is navigating to. Sometimes we make frequent changes to destinations and find that we have to scroll down the 'turn' menu to find where we have asked it to go.Read full review...

Good unit, but old maps.

Battery lasted pretty long, about ten minutes.
Unit acquired satellites in five minutes.
Maps cost $50 to update. Next time,
I will buy a new unit!

Great unit but poor battery life span.

Unit works just great as long as it is plugged into a power source. This is my second unit and they both need new batteries that will hold a charge. Since I only use mine on my motorcycle and they are hard wired into the electrical system, the poor battery life doesn't matter to me.Read full review...

A nice GPS with great display and features

I already had a TomTom GPS but purchased the Garmin to use with snowmobile map software that is available for the Garmin. I am using it in one of our cars and have found it to be more user friendly than the TomTom with some features not available on that GPS. I like the windshield/dash mounting bracket a lot. If I was starting over, I would definitely buy a Garmin. I'm looking forward to using it on my sled this winter.Read full review...

Love it, somewhat easy to use, only wish it had a manual and bracket.

I bought this product to help with some up coming trips out of town. This product is much more then a navigational tool. It has more feature than I expected. I have used a Magellan navigator system before and find the Garmin easier to use.Read full review...

Easy to use to get from point a to b

I have used a gps for a couple of years. They basically find a decent route to a destination. The 260w has a good display and helpful locator for many useful and essential stops along the way. It is user friendly, easy to use. Probably there are better units out there...and worse. But this one works for me. And it can be used out of the car hiking.Read full review...

Portable and Dependable

I love this unit because I can stick it in my pocket and take it anywhere; it charges quickly and holds the charge for five hours straight use; I've charged mine twice; it sits turned off until I need it; the audio response is great, you don't need to keep a vigilant eye on the map while driving; I got this for my wife, however, it seems to have found another home, for the time being anyway; don't need to purchase another one.Read full review...

Excellent GPS device!

I have had 3 different GPS devices and this one is by far the very best one that I've owned. It has a high contrast screen that is easily viewable from different angles and automatically changes from day use display to night use display according to the ambient light. It is easily navigable and user friendly. Would definitely recommend this device over others.Read full review...
