I owned a top[of the-line Garmin Nuvi before this one, and loved it until the screen died. I swore I wouldn't get another one since it had lasted less than two years. I tried a different brand and hated it, so went back to Garmin and found this one at a great price. About the same as what it would have cost me to have ny old one refurbished. This time I took out an extended warranty through SquareTrade. This one doesn't have all the bells and whistles like my original, but does everything it needs to do and is very user friendly. After trying a cheap substitute, I realized that Garmin is the only way to go. I drive a noisy diesel, and the voice quality is so much better on a Garmin than other models, that, for that readon alone, I would recommend it.Read full review...

The feature of telling the name of the streets or roads to turn on is great

This is the second one I bought. I have one in each car and they work very well. I also have a TOM TOM but don't use it because I like the Garmin much better.

good little gps works great

good gps clear crisp screen, by a reputable GPS company. The small size gives it a big plus. It is not as noticeable, and this makes it a lot more convenient. I have the larger GPS and this smaller one works just as great. Bigger is not better in the GPS world.Read full review...

Best GPS Receiver in the Range !!

Its an excellent device for the money I paid. Its one of the old Garmin models but it takes you from Place A to B without any hassles. Takes a while to find the satellites and loading the maps but once everything is done works like a charm ! Garmin Rocks...Read full review...

It works

It works fine. It's just a little slow finding the satellites. My Magellan is faster at finding the satellites.
It does plan routes out a little better than my Magellan.

Garmin nuvi 260W GPS

Simple to use, good graphics, gets me where I need/want to go! I had talked to a number of people and sampled this particular unit. I found it quite easy to use and perfect for my needs. Great Little Device

I had the Nuvi 750 which is a much more advanced unit and it was stolen, so I had to get a Garmin that was budget conscious. I found this one and gave it a shot. It is actually a great unit. Works great!

The Garmin 260W works as well as I would have hoped.
The auditory directions are priceless.

Some things to know:
An update for the map can cost $50+

i.e. I love my Garmin & the price was awesome too!

I had just moved to another state& never been there in my life-time & @ my age I was just too unsure about where I was going.
There is nothing I dis-like about the Garmin, it has saved me several times from getting lost,this area is a very busy place & more traffic than I am use to.
Last summer I had good friends that let me barrow their's & that was the first time ever using one,it also was a Garmin.
