Gekioh!

Gekioh is a must have for any shoot em’ up fan. The Grapics are top notch since it’s sprite base instead of being polygonal so that’s a definite plus. Gameplay was great and often reminded me of the classic Raiden games which I LOVE. The music help me to get into the game which is great because I play a lot of shoot em’ ups which the music was lacking. For the price Gekioh is a MUST for a Playstation collector or fans of the shoot em’ up genre.Read full review...

This game ROCKS!

When I first became a "PlayStation Devotee" (fan) back in the day, I was mainly into RPGs but recently while hanging out on You Tube I discovered the incredible amount of shooting games that are available for my old faithful system. This is the first one (shooter) that I bought, Gekioh Shooting King and all I can say is WOW! Now I know what I've been missing by NOT playing this systems amazing library of "shooting" Games. This game is a blast to play and even more fun to watch while playing. The graphics are simply phenomenal and the game is extremely challenging even when played on "easy". I really love the way the enemy ships seem to "fall" into the background while exploding and you get to watch the ships/enemies you just blasted fall "away" from you and fade away in a plum of billowing smoke. These exploding ship/enemy animations never get old. One of the most challenging things for me to do is to NOT get caught up watching the amazing graphics and to actually concentrate on "staying alive". There is so much to this game it is almost too much but somehow, someway I'll manage thank you. The absolute most amazing thing about this awesome shooter is that "extra modes" that were programmed into the game. These "extra" modes do not even have to be "unlocked" to be played and have to be seen/played to be appreciated. They are (all 8 of them, give are take) are all available from the very first time that you play the game. You don't have to win, earn or unlock them in any way and they are all absolutely outstanding fun! I can not recommend this game highly enough. I paid only $4.99 for a minty fresh copy on EBay and I'm so glad that I did. Go right now and get this game! My next PSX game you ask? Ray Storm.
