It's an isolation transformer that does exactly what it says in the listing. If this is what you want, this well built champion won't dissapoint.
This product is a real 240v to 110v isolation transformer with a built-in earth leakage safety switch (RCD) which actually works (we tested it to be sure). This feature alone could save your life if you're working on mains current devices!
Excellent for R&D & Engineering applications, or when working with prototypes designed for the US Market.
The unit I received works as advertised. It can deliver the promised 2000W, is 100% analog, so the signal out is not significantly noisier than what goes in. I've got mine driving some high-frequency / high voltage resonant oscillators which wouldn't be possible with a switch-mode design. Whilst I don't recommend doing this with yours if you want it to last a long time, or still carry magnetic media, it works fine for my laboratory level project and conditions.
It's a simple, robust design that's been built to a high degree of quality.
This design is great for a bench setup, but it's heavy, noisy, and probably wastes a lot of energy somewhere. But if you don't care about these things then it's remarkable value for money and arrived quickly. Read full review...
