Godzilla vs. Monster Zero
As an adult Godzilla fanatic, I take the mythos seriously and find that in loaning dvd's some don't get returned. I bought the tape of this movie (properly titled "Invasion of Astro Monster") as a loaner for curious friends at a price I couldn't resist!
This movie is not only a sequal, but a direct continuation of the movie "Ghidorah, the 3 Headed Monster. Part two of one story as it were. Said story is important in the world of Toho monsters as it marks the shift of Godzilla from a villian to that of a creature prone to helping, if not mankind as a whole, those who respect Godzilla's home planet of earth.
Made in the Showa period, or formative years of Godzilla movies, it is the first to take the action off earth to another planet. Special effects are tops with massively detailed sets and suit-mation costumes that the Godzilla fans have come to respect Toho films for.
This movie is not only a must have for any true Godzilla fan, but also kid friendly with no real gore or adult language or nudity. A parent can't go wrong trusting a child with a Godzilla movie. And if one cares to study the movies, there are always subtle morals to be learned by developing minds.Read full review...
