Great story mode, lame multiplayer

While most older folks will remember the game with fondness, newcomers should equally love the game play. The updated graphics are a plus and adds to the grittiness of Daniel Craig playing Bond. The only issue I had with the game was the multiplayer mode. The original N64 version was revolutionary for its time and I bought the game primarily for the nostalgia of the multiplayer, but the updated version changed the maps and play completely. If you are looking for the same maps, weapons and characters, you will disappointed. The multiplayer mode has been revamped, and it's only ok.Read full review...

Not a remake of the original! different, but still fun and reminiscent.

Recreating the original Goldeneye 64, one of the most playable and replayable games in history, is impossible. Fact.

GE:Reloaded, for some unknown reason, altered the cast of the original to be led by Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan, and changed the likenesses of every other film actor. I imagine this was done to spare the company purchasing the rights to some much larger celebrities than in 1995. The selectable avatars for multiplayer (villains from earlier films, Zorin, Oddjob, Blowfeld, Scaramanga, etc) remain the same, and very detailed.

The basic plot of this game is wildly different from the original and the film, but they have managed to reuse many of the game locations, if not changing around layouts and chronology.
You can see very clearly that you are playing basically the same levels, but the maps are not the ones you still have memorized from highschool. I wish the graphics had been a bit better, as it's not quite on par with MW3 or Halo4, but it IS reminiscent of the original game (only with CoD controls).
I think the average player will want to begin with a more difficult skill level than "easy." I started at Agent or Secret Agent, somewhere in the middle, and have beaten most levels in one life. I am happy to report that the Jungle level is much easier to navigate. I remember being lost for hours in that map back in the day, only to get repeatedly slaughtered by Zenia at the bridge. I beat Zenia the first time in this game, which left me a little dismayed.
There are icons hidden throughout the levels which are very difficult to find. They are easy to see when you see them, but I haven't found all icons in ANY level yet. Ammo and weapons are generous.
The main problem I have with the game is that it fails to give reasonable explanation of some basic game functions. For instance, your main tool (what WAS your cool spy watch) is now your smartphone. There is a flashing icon. What does it mean? Pop-up tips tell you that you need to do something, but the how of the matter is elusive. As you scan the room with the camera, you may or may not find the green flashing frame telling you where to point the camera. I'd say 1/5 of my gameplay has been slowly spinning around a room looking for the green frame that may or may not be there. Was it in the last room? The next room? On the ceiling? Inside a vent? Who knows?

I've only played multiplayer (splitscreen with friends, not online), but it was acceptable. There is a disclaimer at the startup screen that says the company has the right to discontinue service to online play due to lack of players, so it may already be kaput or may be soon. There are a few other Craig-based Bond games out there, so hopefully there is some interest to keep it going.

A pick up for any Bond fan, especially Goldeneye

I saw that this game had only one other review, so I thought I’d add one as well.

If you are buying this game and expecting it to be identical to the one from 1997, N64, then think again. This is similar in a lot of ways, however due to legal issues (that I won’t get into) and to make it “newer” they changed aspects of this game.

This game does give you the “old time” feel, it is good in its own rights, and IS a pick up for any fan of Bond or Goldeneye itself. The reason this game got a lot of negativity is simple, because most people were expecting it to be 100% identical to the old one, and like I stated above...it isn’t.

This game is worth a pick up, but remember, it’s a different version than the one in 1997. If Rare, EA Sports, Pierce Brosnan and whatever else needed to happen could all work together, they could make an identical copy of Goldeneye64.

Great title

It's a slick looking Bond game which carries on from where the N64 version of Goldeneye started. Only negative on this is Microsoft doesn't allow the Xbox 360 emulator to run the game on the One/Series X-S. If this were possible, it would be perfect.Read full review...

Goldeneye Reloaded Xbox 360

I love this take on Goldeneye. It’s no N64 version, but it’s not suppose to be. That game is awesome, and Reloaded is awesome too. Definitely a great buy!

Goldeneye Reloaded

I received the item quickly and in one piece. The disc hardly had any scratches on it, much less deep scratches. The seller provided a quality item, and the gameplay is pretty cool. Always been a big James Bond fan, and I owned several of the previous games on other consoles. Good to see it back as a first person shooter.Read full review...

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded, Good remake of an amazing original.

If you are a fan of the original N64 make of Goldeneye. This Goldeneye 007: Reloaded will not disappoint. The graphics are not as good as you would expect for a Xbox 360 game however gameplay is above average. If you want to relive the original Goldeneye experience this is going to be as close as you can get. There are some minor changes in the story and characters however the game itself is still fun. Multiplayer takes you back to a lot of original game play elements.Read full review...

the reason why i bought this game is to relive my N64 gaming day. I love the old Goldeneye N64 but I despise the graphic. This way I can play 4 multiplayer game with my buddies while drinking beer...
