Definately the Beggining of the GTA franchise.

The characters through out Vice City are all clones. GPS function in the game is a thumbs down due to it being blurry even if you have the most HD tv & you cannot add a destination point, it's just a map. Missions are very vague, overall graphics are not pleasing to the eye. Read full review...

Now A Classic

Grand Theft Auto has been a classic franchise of video games. It's been copied countless times by other video games. The plot changes on others but not much of the gameplay really. Of the Grand Theft Auto games, I've only played Vice City and San Andreas, and I'm most impressed with Vice City. Some people think it's a ripoff of the show Miami Vice, which may be the case, but the show is primarily about cops and this game has you the user playing a bad guy, not cops. The game gives newcomers hours and hours of playing time and it's easy to play (the missions can be difficult, but the controls are easy to get used to). Whether you're stealing cars, shooting cops and gang members, buying an apartment, or whatever-you won't run out of things to do (unless you buy a cheat book) for a long time. I wouldn't recommend buying a cheat book, unless you just can't figure out how to get any farther, but I don't think you'll need it. It just speeds the game up is all (you'll get more for your money without it). You can travel by foot, car, chopper, boat, and so on. One thing I like about this game is you have a choice of missions. So if you don't like one, you don't have to do that one right now. You can come back to it if you want. I love the 80's soundtrack that Vice City gives us, and the quick ability to change radio stations if we don't like what is on. Already a classic, Vice City won't disappoint newcomers and if you've already played it, you already know that you're not disappointed.Read full review...
