Quest for emeralds in 1954 South America
Although G-rated by modern standards, this film has an interesting story and a good performance by Stewart Granger as a manipulative man obsessed by emeralds. Grace Kelly is a coffee plantation owner who falls in love with him (even after he steals her life's savings, lures away her farm workers, and floods her plantation). The song [Green Fire] that plays loudly over the opening and closing credits is truly awful, and the special effects aren't great even by 1954 standards. Not the blockbuster it aspires to be, but worth watching if you like MOGAMBO or THE DEVIL AT FOUR O'CLOCK.Read full review...
