60's Instrumental Heaven

Having always been fond of 60's Guitar Driven Instrumentals I took a chance on this, hoping Frisell would do justice to many of my favorites. I was not disappointed. From the opening track "Pipeline" to the final track "Telstar" this is a sonic festival. Frisell does these tunes his way, without erasing the original feel. "Pipeline" is simply amazing..."Rumble retains it's rough edge and swagger - I'm sure that Link Wray is looking down - smiling. "Messin With The Kid" sounds amazingly like the Steppenwolf classic "Tighten Up Your Wig"........and Finally "Rebel Rouser" the "Twangy" classic seeths and boils...Buy this - You'll be glad you did!!Read full review...
