HP6978 printer - DON'T ORDER IT

It was easy to set up. The paper tray is made of thin plastic. There is no guide at the end of the tray to hold the paper in place. If you set your printer on two-sided print, then it always prints on both sides. Prior to this I had a 6820 which was incredible. Loved the product. Had to give it away when HP stopped allowing me to purchase their "care packs". I did so with this printer. I keep getting that it is offline. I need to contact HP again. I am glad I purchased a service pak. They've already replaced this and it still isn't working right.Read full review...

Dead on arrival

Unit looks good, obviously was used very little. But, when I installed 4 new fresh genuine HP cartridges, it did not print well at all. The black and yellow were barely visible and the other colors very dim. I did several clean printhead cycles, but things only got worse. So I bought a new HP printhead with startup ink cartridges and installed that. After some exercises, it is now working OK. Needless to say, it was not "fully functional" as the listing said. More Features Than Comparable Products In The Same Price Range

A little hard to figure out how to use some features (such as the zoom feature and the darker/lighter feature) but otherwise a huge upgrade over the model I used to own.

Good multi use printer for the price

My only problem was setting the printer up on the HP site. I don't think it was an issue with the printer but a poorly designed web site. Not user friendly.

Excellent printer, great colors.. Does not connect with the printer claim code for the ink program.
Has excellent scanning and I love the double sided copying. Paper tray is deep, so it will hold plenty of paper. Fax portion is quite and work as it should. I like the HP8620 better, but for the money and the quality of this printer, it is doing just fine. I just need to get the printer claim code to work so I can add it to my ink program. For some reason it fails to except the code when I load it. I've done it by the directions several times with different codes and it gives me error message or server down.
