Good if you aren's used to androids and know windows phones well

I am coming from an android to the windows phone. So the transition is a little hard. I couldn't transfer my info from the one phone to the other. Also the app store for it is a little skimpy. I chose this phone so that I could use the MS Office and access my PC from it and the other features. So far so good as far as that is concerned. If I wasn't coming from an android to the windows I don't think I would have a problem other then the lack of apps at the store. Its go a nice feel and all. I also am having a bit of trouble with the transition of the way the navigation is compared to the android phones. But like I said thats me not the phone. Over all so far so good. It doesn't have a built in GPS either so I had to find an app for that.Read full review...

Very well built product. Over all, I really like it!

Why do they say 8 gbs???? IT IS NOT 8GBs, It IS 16 GBs!!!!
The very first thing I did is void the warranty by upgrading the internal micro sd card for a 32gb card and do a cold reset. It has been 1 month now and works perfect with the new mango update. The phone specs leave a little to be desired of, but just keep in mind that windows doesn't require as much power and RAM to run fast. Battery life isn't as good as my old iPhone 4, but I really like how the OS as a whole, integrates with my windows live email, including skydrive. That's the main reason I bought it. Apps cost more than Apple apps, and not as many, but for the most part, I can do what ever I could do on the iPhone. And I do believe there is a very bright future to the Windows OS!!!Read full review...

All and all, I love my phone.

This version by Verizon actually has 16GB of internal storage, not 8GB. There is no possibility of adding more so that's a good amount. I had a choice of carriers including either Verizon, Page Plus or Selectel. The lack of Adobe Flash was a shock as Android phones have it. This Windows smartphone does not. There are video apps that still let me watch most Youtube videos, in the marketplace. The instant updating with Facebook and Windows Live is nice. The camera is great but I would like built-in photo editing like Crop and Re-size which it does not have. It's not perfect and it's not an Android substitute. It's built for Windows users that want the look and feel of a Windows OS.Read full review...

Very good phone,

this phone is much better than expected. Ditched my Blackberry after third replacement started giving trouble. The interface takes a little getting used to after many years of Blackberry, but I like the ease of use. they could give better instructions on how to do the common tasks, but windows website has pretty good tutorials. No crashes, or resets as yet. battery life if respectable. HTC could do some things better such as notifications. Verizon does not have visual voice mail for windows yet even though the phone is capable.Read full review...

Awesome product! Great value for the money

I'm very impressed w/this WP7.5 phone. It's my first "swiping" type phone. I've greatly enjoyed the WP7.5 experience. I've found it very intuitive and easy to use.Voice quality and reception are good. Importing contacts from outlook and google is difficult and lacks flexibility. The battery is a bit weak, won't make it thru a full day of heavy use. Other than those two, weaknesses, I'm very happy w/the phone and would recommend anyone to buy one.Read full review...

Break away from the monotony of chiclet tiles.

OMG. This device is awesome. Granted we don't have much choice of WP7 devices on VZW. However, after have had an iPhone 3G (on AT&T), Droid X, and now HTC Trophy, I have to say that by far and away the Trophy has my heart hands-down.

It's a shame that local retailers turn away people from WP7 devices, because they are a completely different creature from their WM6.x ancestors. It's as smooth and solid as iOS. And (to me at least) much more aesthetically pleasing and original. Everything from the live tiles to the app list to the hubs. This OS is just usable and beautiful. To top it off, its integration of xbox live is great. You can customize your avatar, play xbox live arcade games, gain achievements, and converse with your xbox live friends from your device!

The down-side is that it doesn't have the vast app support iOS and Android devices have. However, for the average user, it will have most of the apps that fit your needs. For this particular device, the camera is quite lacking which is why it's a shame VZW doesn't have more selection of WP7 devices. Also, compared to my droid x, the screen on this device scratches quite easily. The last down-side is that it doesn't have expandable, external SD memory. You are stuck w/16GB internal memory/internal SD combined. I don't think this is an issue for the majority of people, but for true audiophiles, this could be a deal breaker.

In the end, the aesthetics, stability, and GREAT user experience has me as a WP7 customer for the foreseeable future. This device is great. If you're in the market for a smartphone and want something no-nonsense and beautiful, try this device out. Break away from the monotony of chiclet tiles and try something truly unique and built for the end-user.

I'm happy, and all the haters made me take too long to get it. -__-

I was skeptical coming from the highly customizable WM6.5 to a 'locked down OS' but I needed the ease of use considering what I was using before. The phone is great and I highly recommend the Zune Pass. The phone will be getting the highly anticipated Mango soon, and I can't even fathom how it's possible to make this thing better (besides that the multi-tasking which could come in handy as I've already seen). After this, I feel like I can completely disregard my love for the highest end of the hardware business (dual core 1.5Ghz TI, etc.). The only reason I won't completely disregard it though is because I know they prvide exception gpu performance which we could never get enough of, regardless of OS. I really don't think the Nokia Sea Ray is so underwhelming anymore. =)Read full review...

Great product for new smartphone users, good value for the money

Was purchased as a gift, perfect for new smartphone users who are okay with 3G speeds. Quick phone and reliable with an easy to use interface. It is very different from Android devices and utilizes a tiled homescreen that is virtually endless. Also works well with Netflix and Xbox live - perfect way to get more achievements and increase that gamer score on the go!Read full review...

Love the OS (WP7.5), the phone is decent. Newer, faster phones preferrable.

I give the OS a 4, really a 3.5. It's beautiful, intuitive, and fast with native apps. However, it's too restricted and 3rd party apps are slow at times. Android is simply more efficient for doing most of my typical tasks, though I enjoy using WP7.5 more where the tasks' efficiencies are comparable.

I give the phone itself a 3. For me, the screen is too small and the battery is too small (1300 mah, really?). Also, the screen quality is so-so. Photos are ok in good light, terrible in poor light. However, build quality is excellent and so is sound quality.
As a package, I give it a 3, though 3.5 would be slightly more accurate. I bought it to try (on Verizon), and I'm not disappointed with the exercise. HTC One X with WP7.5 anyone? Or WP8!

Silky smooth, responsive OS and user experience with the HTC Trpophy!

Went from the original Droid to the HTC 7 Trophy for Verizon and I am not looking back! Super responsive and silky smooth experience with the Windows Phone Mango UI. Even though it doesn't pack as much punch under the hood as some of the super phones out there, I have not experienced nary a stutter or hung screen with this phone so far. Sure the OS is "locked down" in comparison to Android but I'd gladly accept the trade off of a more polished, stable user experience over the flexibility of Android any day. Being the most basic of basic Windows Phone devices, the Trophy has exceeded my expectations. I can't wait for some of the higher end devices to come out in 2012!

Some Cons:

1) Limited ecosystem of apps (not a big deal for me but for some people its a deal breaker)

2) Terrible camera HTC...worse the the original droid if possible

3) For some reason HTC does not allow you to turn off the haptic feedback on the buttons. Annoying!
