Hair by Anne Akers Johnson

It's a fantastic book for girls with long hair and for girls with really long hair. It's got more pages than most hair books and the pictures are really nice. The book explains in detail how to fix the fanciest styles.I've never been very good at fixing hair but I have had success by looking at the step by step information in this book. With Three small children it is also a sturdy book that would be hard to destroy-and my children can crack cement. My daughter was excited to see the pictures. She is five now and she likes for me to fix her hair.I can't wait until she gets old enough to fix mine by the book. One thing I liked about it was it explains how to hold your arm where it won't tire out as easy, because that has been one thing that always hindered me from fixing my hair-my arm would just give out, and then I would have to start all over again. It's very informative and we really like it.I wish I could have had it when I was a child.Read full review...

A Book of Braiding and Styles.

I bought two copies. One for my 12 yo granddaughter, and then reading it, I bought one for my wife whose hair is now 5" below her shoulder.(and designer silver.). Old fahrts can play, too.

Title should include braiding, twisting, dressing hair

If you want to wear your hair long, but have control and elegance, this is a book you should have. Although it is beautifully illustrated, and there are easy to follow diagrams, be prepared to spend some time practicing to accomplish the more sophisticated styles. It is a book that is helpful in braiding hair for the young to the older women. I am 60 years old, and prefer my hair undyed, and wear it braided 99% of the time. I am experimenting with more styles now. I rate this book excellent, provided the user is willing to carefully follow the easy directions.Read full review...

Great way to learn how to braid your own hair!

This book taught me how to braid my own hair, and gave me ideas on different styles for every occasion!

Great Book

This book is easy to understand and has clear, step-by-step instructions. The braids are classy and work for a variety of hair types. It is more of a beginner book, with only a couple more complicated braids/twists, but those who already know how to braid can still benefit from it. Most of the braids/twists are shown from a do-it-yourself perspective.Read full review...

Very Happy.

My daughter had this book in the 90’s. She really enjoyed the styles & found the directions easy to follow.
I was disappointed to learn it was out of print so very pleased to find it in such good condition for my granddaughter. The styles are timeless.Read full review...

Hair care

The book has a lot of pictures with the directions. The directions are very easy to understand.I was happy to see the variety in the examples shown. The picture showed the box with the book having 3 particular hair ties in it.They were not what I received, but they were equally nice.
The reason I chose this book is because I am growing out my hair and needed some styling options
