Cattanach's Book gives beginners good perspective.
Excellent easy reading and practical information on the subject. Cattanach gives info for the novice not available elsewhere and based on his direct experience, enabling costly mistakes to be avoided.
This book is eminently usable for one desiring a good finished first attempt at almost any level of bamboo fly rod work, building, refinish, or restoration.
Not a lot of theory but much practical advice clearly explained. Very good discourse on planes & what really works well.

This book is well written and gives detailed information on the art of bamboo rod making. Very informative and full of useful information from prior to start to finish. Wayne Cattanach is known as a great "MAKER" and has shared his ideas along with others.
