This games a classic , very fun, very adventurous and alot of strategy required. Don't forget too get your contract before you attack a villain in his castle with siege equipment. Also buy control spell and learn magic asap. Sometimes undead or angry soldiers with low morale can turn on you and attack your army. Ghosts, vampires and trolls beware of there fast regeneration. Wolves are good and don't underestimate a bunch of cheap peasants for beginning battles! They are good too hage.Read full review...

i bought this game for the mere purpose of giving my g/f something easy to play, that is an RPG...trying to get her coverted on those types of games...knowing only if she tried it..she would love it...plus it would get her off my back for a bit longer and allow me the free time with my gaming...atm all she does is complain...but, o haved a feeling it will all soon change...i hope. i use to love this game...yea, its out of date...but that doesnt matter to me...im all about the positives..Read full review...

In my opinion this one of the most underrated games ever made for the PS2. I have owned it for about 8 years and I still play it and love as much as I did back then. The only reason I bought a new copy was because my old one doesn't work in my US PS2.
The key to this game is the combination of chess-like strategy and the fantasy genre. There's a lot more to it than first meets the eye. It's probably a tough game to get into in the very early stages but once one gets the hang of it, it is super-addictive. I think it is just the fact that people didn't give it enough of a chance when they first tried it that stopped it from being hugely popular.
It definitely appeals more to people who like the fantasy genre (Lord of the Rings and such), but I think it appeals to others too, if they invest a little time figuring out how the game play works.
