Netflix has made it harder to understand the function and techs have no idea to help. Before I could just turn on the Hitachi remote, not now. For old timers like me: Turn on Hitachi, on t.v. go to channel you want to tape, push t.v. button on t.v. remote, then push input and again scroll to t.v. THEN on your Hitachi remote scroll to L1. Damn! Now you can record but there is yet another catch, floating on your screen now says you can record!!! To get rid of it on your t.v. remote push Sat. No it won't stop you from recording or knock you off channel. My old Hitachi jammed and wanted a new one. So far this one after one month has been working great! My brother owns this model. He told me, this is best VCR, never have any problem, Can be recorder TV program very well. Very quite deviance, Running VHS tape very well. I bought same one. salvage old VHS tapes

Had a box of old VHS tapes from our early years with 6 kids from 3 to 11 years old. I felt I wanted to salvage and transpose them to digital and give them as Christmas gifts to our 6 kids... So far this idea is working.. Much cheaper then shipping the tapes off to be digitalized at $750..Have plans to sell the VHS machine once the project is done. Read full review...
