Great upgrade
In my opinion unless your just a fanatic about keeping your old car with points there is no reason not to get one of these systems .We installed the Pertronix ignition and the flamethwower coil in a 67 mustang in about 20 minutes .Faster starts, smoother idle and overall better performance .A friend of mine installed one in his 1970 caddy

Works with points, car fires right up now
I bought this for my 1971 Ford LTD with the 400, it’s basically stock, and I bought this and was weary that it would work with stock points, well it works with stocks points and the car fires right up, has tons of low end torque and the points haven’t blown up! I thought I was calling Pertronix to find out which coil I needed. Turns out it was a guy from Ponderosa Mustang. He told me i needed this coil so I ordered it. Then I found out from Juan at Pertronix that they did not make a coil that will work with breaker points ignition. So I was left with a coil I couldn't use. I sold it at a loss.Read full review...
