Does A Fantastic Job

This CPU cooler does a great job at cooling my AMD 8350. my idle temp is 9C-15C and on a full load running for hours my temp is 35C-40C. The ONLY issue with the one I received was when the fan is set to 100% its pretty noisy. I added another 120mm fan to it as well. To get rid of the noise all I had to do was turn the fan down to 80%. At 80% I'm still getting 35C.

I probably just got a bad fan which is completely fine, its a very easy fix. ($7 fix) Not worth returning in MY eyes...

Either way I would strongly recommend this CPU cooler, its the best thing besides water cooling. It is pretty big so make sure this damn thing will fit in your case!

It works, but after mounting a second fan to it.

Well, it would have been nice if it was marked fragile, the thing arrived damaged but I really needed a new cooler so I just didn't bother with getting a different one shipped. It's really nothing fancy and the plastic is just way to stiff and snaps easily. I also had to mount a second fan with a very high CFM to help keep my I7-870 cool while over clocking it. TBH I don't see why people praise this cooler, it's got cheap plastic and can barely cool my cpu without a second fan...Read full review...

The best air-cooler for under 50 bucks, as long as it'll fit in your tower. (which is usually)

There's really no substitute if you have a big tower and want a cheap, quiet air cooler. These have a great reputation and with good reason. I used one of these on a notoriously hot-running Intel Core i7-950 rig, with an overclock of 800mhz & it ran extremely cool even in the hot months.
Watercooling? Only if I'm pushing things farther than they probably oughta be.
Definitely on more expensive ranges of air-coolers, you may see even better performance, but for under 50 bucks? Holy jeez, this is definitely a good buy. They come with a mount for a secondary fan and all the tools and small parts you'll need. They will fit on a TON of different socket types & motherboards. With a little tweaking you can even get them into oddball workstation machines!

Still a great choice.

This has been my go-to aftermarket cooler even after all these years. I've found that the EVO outperforms the more recent versions of the 212, such as the 212 Black Edition.

Temperatures are pretty good, I'm pushing 1.250V through my i5 4670K to maintain 4.3GHz (I got a below average chip). Load temperatures in games and normal programs are around 65C max, while synthetic stress testing will see around 75C. My ambient room temperature is generally around 26C.

Noise levels are a bit high when the fan nears maximum speed. It tends to generate a howling sound above 80%. However, under normal loads the fan is quiet, and still delivers sufficient airflow to cool my CPU.

Mounting isn't as easy as some other aftermarket coolers out there, but it's totally manageable. Note that access to the rear of the motherboard is required to mount the backplate, so depending on your case configuration removing the motherboard may be required.

The thermal compound included is decent, but for high voltages/OC I would recommend something better. They do give you a second fan bracket, but I didn't see any improvement in cooling performance with a push-pull configuration. Still, it's nice to have that option.

Works Great For Many Intel And AMD Cpus

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is my GO TO cpu cooler. I build computer systems for friends and family who need a system to pay bills, play games, etc. since 1978. Yes as computer cpus have advanced many systems today would require higher end cooling methods to tame the heat produced by many of the HIGH END CPUS available today. There are many other quality air coolers and water coolers out there but the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO has never failed me.Read full review...

Works great, quiet and solved my i7 overheating problem.

Works great, quiet and cool. My Intel i7 chip was hitting temp limit of 105 C and the computer was shutting down even after cleaning of the dust from system and adding new thermal past under heat-sink. This new fan dropped the temperature to 55C under max load and no more probelms with overheating. Also very quiet, I had to keep checking to see it was running. One issue is I can't put side cover on now due to end of heatpipes sticking out too far.Read full review...

One of the better air coolers for older CPUs.

I have this puppy on an i7-870 1st Gen that is overclocked to 3.92GHz. She runs nice and cool, especially with a 90 CFM Corsair fan installed in place of the fan that comes with this unit. I get around 37°C at idle and top out at 68°C with Prime 95 running full bore. Only Noctua makes better coolers, which I recommend if you have the money, get their unit.Read full review...

Works great for my system

I just rebuilt and upgraded my desk top. New Asrock Z170 Pro4S motherboard, Intel i7 6700K CPU, Crucial Ballistix Sport16 GB RAM and the Cooler Master. The Cooler Master keeps the processor at a very level temperature. I don't over clock but, easily could with the setup. Maybe at a later date, who knows. As it stands, I don't have a need for a second fan but, it would be easy to add. Everything you need to install is included.Read full review...

Great performance, slightly tough install

I've used this on an 1155 board to cool an Intel i5 2500 non k. Before I used to get max temps of 79 degrees celcius and now it's down to 55 max. I used it in an older micro atx case and it fit with the tiniest bit of space left between the heatsink and the case cover. Be sure to check dimensions of your case before buying

4 starts because i had some difficulty in installing the cooler with the brackets. They required quite a bit of force to install and had me worried I would break the board or something

Bigger then expected

Don't let the pic fool you its bigger then it looks the height was my issue barely got the case shut (mid tower..sides of case bow out just enough to make it work for me).. if i didn't have vent holes on the side of my case not sure it would have fit it pokes out the vent holes on the side of my case all manages to take up one ram slot that i don't use anyways but otherwise love it and keeps my system way more stable then the stock CPU fan.. pretty much best bang for your buck.. I ended up adding a fan to the other side so i had two fans runs very cool on my AMD 8350 even with the single fan. Side note.. I thought it was fairly easy to install although the instructions and almost useless mostly pictures lacking information and yes it does some with some thermal paste that is of alright quality if you don't want to spend the extra for something better,. I tossed in a pic for a size refer for those that may need it.Read full review...

One of the best value CPU coolers

Excellent cooling power and value for the money. Easily removable fan makes it a breeze to mount when it overhangs memory (doesn't it always?). It does require removing the motherboard to mount the back plate if the case does not have a CPU mount cutout which most cases do have now. 120mm PWM fan and low RPM makes it quiet enough to not be annoying and still get the job done when needed. Definitely recommended!Read full review...
