I made a little upgrade from a P8400 to this P9600 and it make's a big change and the temp's still very the same. Yet not the best C2D for laptop on the market but for the money its simple the best

Nice upgrade!

I got this processor in replacement to a P8400 processor, also socket P. It was a great upgrade since I got twice as much cache L3, and more frequency both for processing and data exchange. in the era of 2007-209 when massively sold computers core 2 duo, mass distribution received a series processors with the letter "T" company Intel. at that time they were and very cheap as T4300-T4400 and flagship T9500-T9900. Different was sewed 800 or 1000 MHz, target different versions of governors chips and bridges motherboards in laptops. but the whole series "T" had one major flaw is a thermal package in the 35-44 watt. A characteristic feature sorted series processors "P" has always been a frequency 1000 MHz and thermal package in 25 watts, which significantly affected the heating surfaces of the laptop. Conservative lovers and technology, and are not willing to or unable to switch to the latest solutions from INTEL and AMD, very expedient upgrade(replacement) of their older processors T series on p9500 running, P9600, p9700. that either give a significant productivity gain on older laptops, or make it much cooler.
