Best LGA1156 CPU

This is simply the best LGA1156 cpu. Easy to overclock. I'm running it on an Asus P7P55D-E with aftermarket air cooling (be quiet large radiator). Currently overclocked at 3.2GHz and temps are bellow 55°C, which is pretty impressive. I haven't found good voltages to crank it to 4GHz but I'm working on it. Pretty sure I'll get to 3.5 real quick. Other than that this cpu is really stable on stock settings. If you don't want to overclock it, it's a bit pricy for the performance but if you can boost it a little, go ahead because it runs really cool.Read full review...

Amazing almost 11 year-old processor

I was looking for an old i7 processor for my ECS H57H-M motherboard. Of course, you can't expect it to be the best gaming processor for 2021, but it performs very well.

Using this motherboard and 4 Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 @ 1333 MHz, I was able to overclock this processor to 3.4 GHz using all threads / 4 GHz using 1 thread, both cases under a heavy load. I think it can be overclocked even more easily, but this was the best I could achieve with my components.

Mixing this processor with a Geforce GTX 1650 GDDR6 (EVGA KO Ultra) I was able to play not-so-old games like Bioshock Infinite, Hitman: Absolution, and Borderlands 2 in Ultra settings @ 1440p - 60 FPS (I use Vertical Synchronization, so it could achieve even more frames), and some more recent games like Fallout 4 and WWZ using some Ultra settings @ 1080p - 60-100 FPS.

The performance for a daily use is excellent. I also enabled Turbo Boost, and this allows the processor to work efficiently (not consuming too much power) and in low temps most of the time.

Good for its price.

Good for its price. Despite used, look like almost new. There were one little damage on the outer side, but work fire, with out any problems. Comparing to modern processors it is comparatively slow, but it works with old motherboards and memory, so gives enough possibilities to work with Photoshop.Read full review...

Great hyperthreaded QC and it's unlocked. Stable at 100% load.

Fantastic price/performance! Wow well in 100 words if you need a socket 1156 processor this is the one to get! I love the 4 cores and 8 threads. I would suggest more than stock cooling if you plan to run at 100% load, the norm for any cpu. Have been at 100% for weeks now with no glitches at all! Highly recommended!!Read full review...
